Excursion Creed-India 2011-2012 (BI-BMBF)

In February 2012 nine students from the University OWL together with the professors, Dr. Uta Pottgiesser and Dr. Reinhard Doleschal collaborated  60 students from India universities as part of a CREED excursion. This excursion served to deepen already existing contacts with the Indian Institute of Science (IISC) ​​in Bangalore, and establish new contacts within the university Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology Murthal (DCRUSTM) in Sonepat and the National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad / Bangalore.

Sustainable School Design

In continuation of the “CREED-PS ” courses offered by the University OWL, German architecture students designed a school building in the plus-energy standard together with Indian students in a workshop.

Energy Efficient Buildings

A second workshop at the Indian Institute of Science was concerned with modern school buildings, teaching and training methods and new technologies. The exhibition concept was also developed for the multimedia presentation for the “Mobile Space City” tour, on 13  April 2012 in Mumbai.

Creed India 2012


The conference papers have been published in the conference proceedings under the title „Energy Efficient Design of Buildings and Cities“. The publication mainly refers to examples from India and gives a good overview over traditional architecture up to new adaptations of vernacular principles to contemporary architecture.
