It has been recognized that human activities play a key role and must therefore be considered in future climate simulations. The representation of anthropization in land surface schemes within global earth system models is at a relatively nascent stage and must be improved for more accurate future projections of water resources. The understanding of the impact of anthropogenic processes has been hampered by the lack of consistent and extensive observations. Here, we present the Land surface Interactions with the Atmosphere over the Iberian Semi-arid Environment (LIAISE) project field campaign which brought together ground-based (surface energy budget estimated at 7 sites, 269 radio soundings made at 2 sites and multiple remote sensing instruments for profiling the lower atmosphere), airborne measurements (3 airplanes and numerous drones measuring surface and atmospheric properties) and satellite data (to derive estimates of irrigation timing, soil moisture, evapotranspiration and surface temperature) to improve our understanding of key natural and anthropogenic land processes and boundary layer feedbacks. The study area is in the Ebro basin of northeastern Spain in a hot, dry Mediterranean climate, with a sharp demarcation between a vast intensively irrigated region and a much drier rainfed zone to the east. Analysis of the observations reveal strong surface heterogeneities of evapotranspiration within the irrigated zone (differences upwards of approximately 7 mm day-1 between fields), linked to the crop type, vegetation phenology and soil moisture, all of which were modulated by irrigation. One way they could be reactivated for bidirectional on demand traffic is by small cabin-like vehicles, lateral stabilized by a system of control moment gyroscopes and a moveable mass. Regarding such a vehicle, there is currently no reference in comparison with other vehicles and no experimental experience or the like. To ensure the functionality and safety of the vehicle even before its realization, a model-based design is carried out for development, analysis, optimization and testing. This paper is focused on the co-simulation of such a vehicle that is controlled by a longitudinal control. In order to take into account the complex interaction between the longitudinal dynamics and the running gear, the entire system must be considered here including the wheel/rail interaction. Co-simulations are performed considering both the mechanical model of the vehicle and the control of the longitudinal dynamics of the overall system. The simulation results show that functionality and safe operation can be ensured by the vehicle longitudinal controls. As a result, the simulation and the measurement of the real system show a good match. Nonetheless, investigations of trends in publication behavior and emergence as well as changes in IS research are usually narrowly focused. This article contributes to the growing number of articles published in the IS domain by analyzing the evolution of trends and major research fields as well as the regional distribution of publications in the AIS Senior Scholars' Basket of Eight (AIS Bo8) and the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), changes in publication behavior, and the emergence of as well as changes to IS research fields and trends. Our semi-automated literature review integrates scientific methods to support the review and classification of publications. Based on 6692 articles published in the ICIS proceedings and the AIS Bo8 journals in a period of 16 years, we elaborate the key characteristics of research development. Our contribution provides and interprets a contemporaneous account of contextual factors influencing the IS research domain. The concept in this paper uses skills not only in the phase of engineering but also consequently for direct and generic control of field-devices. An executable skill-metamodel therefore describes the methodological functionality which is implemented by using OPC UA due to its vendor independence as well as built-in services and information model. In this paper we describe an image processing and  pattern  recognition  approach  which  is  based  on  the  Sound-of-Intaglio  concept  [1]  for  the  usage  in  smart  devices  such  as  smartphones.  Today,  in  many  world  regions  smartphones  are  in  use.  These  devices  become  more  and  more  computing units, equipped with resource-limited but effective CPUs, cameras with illumination, and flexible operating systems.  Hence,  it  appears  to  be  obvious,  to  apply  those  smartphones  for  banknote  authentication,  especially  for  visually impaired persons. However, it has to be researched, whether those devices are capable of processing  the  data  under the constraints of image quality and processing power. They have proved to be excellent tools in feature extraction and classification. In this paper we present a hardware accelerated image processing and classification scheme for rotation and translation tolerant two-dimensional pattern recognition, which is based on one-dimensional nonlinear discrete circular transforms. However, the scheme is simple; it is stable and therefore well suited for industrial applications.
