text: "Introduction: In-line sensors, which are crucial for real-time (bio-) process
monitoring, can suffer from anomalies. These signal spikes and shifts compromise
process control. Due to the dynamic and non-stationary nature of bioprocess signals,
addressing these issues requires specialized preprocessing. However, existing
anomaly detection methods often fail for real-time applications.\r\n\r\nMethods:
This study addresses a common yet critical issue: developing a robust and easy-to-implement
algorithm for real-time anomaly detection and removal for in-line permittivity
sensor measurement. Recombinant Pichia pastoris cultivations served as a case
study. Trivial approaches, such as moving average filtering, do not adequately
capture the complexity of the problem. However, our method provides a structured
solution through three consecutive steps: 1) Signal preprocessing to reduce noise
    and eliminate context dependency; 2) Anomaly detection using threshold-based identification;
    3) Validation and removal of identified anomalies.\r\n\r\nResults and discussion:
We demonstrate that our approach effectively detects and removes anomalies by
compensating signal shift value, while remaining computationally efficient and
practical for real-time use. It achieves an F1-score of 0.79 with a static threshold
of 1.06 pF/cm and a double rolling aggregate transformer using window sizes w1
= 1 and w2 = 15. This flexible and scalable algorithm has the potential to bridge
a crucial gap in process real-time analytics and control."

text: Bioactive peptides are increasingly employed in cosmetic products and these
are generically known as cosmetic peptides. This review aims to provide an update
on current information related to commercially available cosmetic peptides, and
the in vitro and ex vivo evidence for their potential biological effects. A total
of 102 commercially available cosmetic peptides were identified. The majority
of these peptides are inspired by molecules already found in the human body, including
sequences from extracellular matrix molecules, also known as matrikines. Cosmetic
peptides are produced either through chemical synthesis or via biotechnological
processes. Their claimed biological activities include signaling to increase collagen
and hyaluronic acid production, modulation of pigmentation, maintenance of a healthy
skin microbiome, antioxidant activity and cellular defense, immunomodulation,
neurotransmitter inhibition, enzyme activity inhibition and trace mineral carriers.
The primary structure and current scientific evidence for the bioactivities of
these peptides are presented and discussed. The review highlights the diverse
methodological approaches used and the outcomes measured in the assessment of
cosmetic peptide efficacy. Overall, a large range of cosmetic peptides are commercially
available whose efficacy is supported by divergent levels of in vitro and ex vivo
    data.

text: 'This Design-Based Research (DBR) project aims to develop an intelligent tutoring
system (ITS) for higher education. The system will collect teaching and learning
materials in audio and video formats (e.g., podcasts, lecture recordings, screencasts,
and explainer videos), and store them on a learning experience platform (LXP).
Then, the ITS will process them with the help of speech recognition to gain data
which, in turn, will be used to power further applications: Using artificial intelligence
(AI), the platform will allow users to search the materials, automatically compiling
them according to criteria like lesson subject, language, medium, or required
prior knowledge. By the end of the last DBR cycle, the ITS will also provide a
more active form of support: It will automatically generate exercises based on
predefined patterns and teaching materials, thus allowing learners to check up
on their learning progress autonomously. In order to closely match the ITS''s
features to the needs and learning habits of students in higher education, the
development of this AI-based tutoring system is accompanied by an interdisciplinary
team which will continuously re-evaluate and adapt the concept over the course
of several DBR cycles. Our goal is to derive implications for the system''s technical
development by collecting and evaluating educational research data (mixed methods
design; primary and secondary research methods).'

text: Failure in time (FIT) is an important measure for the reliability of electrical
connectors. Due to the very long lifetime of connectors, the tests for the determination
of FIT rate are time and labour intensive. In this paper a data driven method
using a statistical process to estimate the FIT rate of electrical connectors
with data of electrical contact resistance development in short term tests is
proposed. The results of prediction are then compared with the results from long
term tests. The study shows a strong correlation between contact resistance development
in short term tests and the development of the number of failures in later stages
of tests. In order to predict the development of degradation precisely, the distribution
of resistance data in many different tests with different connectors is investigated.
The Generalized Extreme Value Distribution, which reveals an ideal fitting, has
been implemented for the prediction of the failure rates of connectors, thereby
enabling a remarkable time-lapse of lifetime tests. This method can also be employed
in the prognosis and management of system health through the forecast of health
of connectors in different systems in operation.

for example, long andbulky goods. If the major advantage of block storage in area
saving is themost important, the companyhas to accept the removal principle of
last in first out or in other words, first in last out. The last goods to be stocked
are the first goods to be removed and the first stocked goods are the last to
be removed. There are some special observations in the block storage concerned
in this paper. The first one is that the goods in the storage ordered by the customers
can often not be removed directly from the storage without any stock movement.
Theaim is to not only benefit fromthe high-density storage solution but also decrease
the negative influence of block storage, especially when pre-stocked goods must
be removed at first. The second observation is that during one concerned time
period, forexample, one day, there may be several operations of put-away and several
operations of order picking for shipment preparation. The third observation is
that before goods are put away to storage, which goods to be removed are not always
predictable. The preplanned removal dates are quite often unexpected changed.
In this paper, scenarios with different dynamic properties and stochastic probabilities
have been concerned and defined. Strategies for the three main stages of put-away,
i.e. stacking, pre-marshalingand retrieval are defined and examined developed.
Simulations have been conducted to examine the strategies based on different scenarios.
The aimis to select the right strategy which may reduce the overall relocation
operations. It is expected that the sum of blocks movement during put-away i.e.
stacking, pre-marshaling, and block retrieval is optimally minimized.
