In a first step, existing usage scenarios were analyzed to identify characteristic functionalities and application domains. The identified core functionalities were integrated into a representative and coherent evaluation scenario, which was presented to a target user population in a questionnaire-based study. The results of the study indicate, that the participants regard the described Ambient Intelligence functionalities as rather useful and easy to use. Nevertheless, moderate overall ratings for both factors show, that the acceptance of AmI technologies is not as high as often argued.","lang":"eng"}],"conference":{"location":"San Diego, CA, USA","name":"First International Conference, HCD 2009, Held as Part of HCI International 2009","start_date":"2009-07-19","end_date":"2009-07-24"},"page":"1052-1061","type":"conference","editor":[{"last_name":"Kuroso","full_name":"Kuroso, Masaaki ","first_name":"Masaaki "}],"publisher":"Springer","doi":"10.1007/978-3-642-02806-9_120","date_updated":"2025-04-11T09:01:43Z","series_title":"Lecture Notes in Computer Science","publication":" Human Centered Design","_id":"4676","author":[{"first_name":"Carsten","id":"61525","last_name":"Röcker","full_name":"Röcker, Carsten"}],"intvolume":" 5619","publication_identifier":{"eisbn":["978-3-642-02806-9"],"isbn":["978-3-642-02805-2"]},"citation":{"havard":"C.
