Since the CPS have to act autonomously, a procedure for automated decision making has to be designed. In our work we concentrate on the design of a decision procedure by a fuzzy classifier approach. For our application on decision making in an industrial environment, a fuzzy approach was picked as convenient classification technique regarding balance between accuracy and computational time. We present a supervised learning method called FUZZY-ComRef which combines fuzzy classification and our combinatorial refinement method, called ComRef [1]. Due to the fact that fuzzy classification might behave inaccurately for some datasets, the aim of our approach is to improve the results provided by the (stand-alone) fuzzy classification. We show the performance of FUZZY-ComRef evaluated on the samples from the UCI Repository and on our real-world dataset Motor Drive Diagnosis. In addition, we discuss the quadratic computational time problem arising from the combinatorial nature of ComRef. Furthermore, we show based on real-time evaluations that within parallelisation the proposed FUZZY-ComRef is suitable to many applications in CPS.","lang":"eng"}],"keyword":["Support vector machines","Accuracy","Time complexity","Decision making","Motor drives","Shape","Sensors"],"publisher":"IEEE","title":"Automated Fuzzy Classification with Combinatorial Refinement","department":[{"_id":"DEP5023"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}]},{"doi":"10.1109/etfa.2015.7301599","citation":{"ufg":"Block, Dimitri et. al. Additionally, mutual interference from heterogeneous wireless technologies limits real-time capabilities of industrial wireless technologies. Therefore, performance validations of industrial wireless technologies within appropriate industrial wireless environments are necessary. In this paper, we present the first raw measurement data set publication of an industrial wireless environment characterization in a data repository for free public access to enable transparent industrial wireless technology validation and to enhance their comparability. We characterize the whole license-free 2.4-GHz-ISM band with a time resolution of 110 μs and a frequency resolution of 1MHz in a coexistence scenario with four antennas obstructed by robot arm movements. Additionally, the frequency and time variance of the measured channel attenuations are analyzed.","lang":"eng"}],"_id":"2375","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/7301599"}],"date_created":"2020-05-18T15:20:18Z","author":[{"first_name":"Dimitri","last_name":"Block","full_name":"Block, Dimitri"},{"last_name":"Fliedner","first_name":"Niels Hendrik","full_name":"Fliedner, Niels Hendrik"},{"full_name":"Toews, Daniel","first_name":"Daniel","last_name":"Toews"},{"full_name":"Meier, Uwe","last_name":"Meier","first_name":"Uwe"}],"status":"public","type":"conference","publication_identifier":{"isbn":["9781467379298"]},"user_id":"57956","quality_controlled":"1","publication":"2015 IEEE 20th Conference on Emerging Technologies & Factory Automation (ETFA)","date_updated":"2023-03-15T13:49:39Z","title":"Wireless channel measurement data sets for reproducible performance evaluation in industrial environments","department":[{"_id":"DEP5000"}],"keyword":["Wireless communication","Wireless sensor networks","Antenna measurements","Attenuation measurement","Extraterrestrial measurements","Time-frequency analysis"]},{"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"publication_status":"published","series_title":"Lecture Notes in Computer Science","abstract":[{"text":"A major challenge in modern data-centric medicine is the increasing amount of time-dependent data, which requires efficient user-friendly solutions for dealing with such data. To create an effective and efficient knowledge discovery process, it is important to support common data manipulation tasks by creating quick, responsive and intuitive interaction methods. In this paper we describe some methods for interactive longitudinal data visualization with focus on the usage of mobile multi-touch devices as interaction medium, based on our design and development experiences. We argue that when it comes to longitudinal data this device category offers remarkable additional interaction benefits compared to standard point-and-click desktop computer devices. An important advantage of multi-touch devices arises when interacting with particularly large longitudinal data sets: Complex, coupled interactions such as zooming into a region and scrolling around almost simultaneously is more easily achieved with the possibilities of a multi-touch device than compared to a regular mouse-based interaction device.","lang":"eng"}],"citation":{"bjps":"Holzinger A et al. (2014) Towards Interactive Visualization of Longitudinal Data to Support Knowledge Discovery on Multi-Touch Tablet Computers. Nowadays, mobile computing plays an increasingly important role in the biomedical domain, and particularly in hospitals. The benefits of using mobile devices in hospitals are no longer disputed and many applications for medical care are already available. Many studies have proven that mobile technologies can bring various benefits for enhancing information management in the hospital. But is mobility a solution for every problem?\r\n\r\nIn this paper, we will demonstrate that mobility is not always an advantage. On the basis of a field study at the pediatric surgery of a large University Hospital, we have learned within a two-year long mobile computing project, that mobile devices have indeed many disadvantages, particularly in stressful and hectic situations and we conclude that mobile computing is not always advantageous.","lang":"eng"}],"series_title":"Lecture Notes in Computer Science","publication_status":"published","place":"Cham","status":"public","date_created":"2021-01-14T10:13:20Z","author":[{"full_name":"Holzinger, Andreas","first_name":"Andreas","last_name":"Holzinger"},{"full_name":"Sommerauer, Bettina","first_name":"Bettina","last_name":"Sommerauer"},{"full_name":"Spitzer, Peter","first_name":"Peter","last_name":"Spitzer"},{"full_name":"Juric, Simon","last_name":"Juric","first_name":"Simon"},{"full_name":"Zalik, Borut","first_name":"Borut","last_name":"Zalik"},{"full_name":"Debevc, Matjaz","first_name":"Matjaz","last_name":"Debevc"},{"last_name":"Lidynia","first_name":"Chantal","full_name":"Lidynia, Chantal"},{"full_name":"Calero-Valdez, Andre","last_name":"Calero-Valdez","first_name":"Andre"},{"id":"61525","full_name":"Röcker, Carsten","first_name":"Carsten","last_name":"Röcker"},{"last_name":"Ziefle","first_name":"Martina","full_name":"Ziefle, Martina"}],"main_file_link":[{"open_access":"1"}],"_id":"4372","publication":"Availability, Reliability, and Security in Information Systems","oa":"1","date_updated":"2026-07-07T08:28:55Z","user_id":"89807","publication_identifier":{"isbn":["978-3-319-10974-9"],"eisbn":["978-3-319-10975-6"]},"type":"conference","department":[{"_id":"DEP5023"},{"_id":"DEP5027"}],"publisher":"Springer","title":"Mobile Computing is not Always Advantageous: Lessons Learned from a Real-World Case Study in a Hospital","intvolume":" 8708","keyword":["Mobile computing","real-world","user experience","hospital computing","medical informatics"],"volume":8708,"page":"110 - 123"},{"user_id":"74004","publication":"Animal Cell Biotechnology","date_updated":"2023-03-15T13:49:39Z","type":"book_chapter","publication_identifier":{"issn":["1064-3745","1940-6029"],"isbn":["9781627037327"],"eisbn":["9781627037334"]},"status":"public","place":"Totowa, NJ","date_created":"2020-05-19T14:45:43Z","author":[{"first_name":"Björn","last_name":"Frahm","full_name":"Frahm, Björn"}],"_id":"2394","keyword":["Seed train Optimization Modeling Prediction Space-Time-Yield (STY) Systems approach Bioinformatics Computational biotechnology Suspension Production"],"volume":1104,"intvolume":" 1104","page":"355-367","department":[{"_id":"DEP4021"}],"title":"Seed Train Optimization for Cell Culture","publisher":"Humana Press","year":2013,"doi":"10.1007/978-1-62703-733-4_22","citation":{"ama":"Frahm B.
