text: "Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die Eignung von digitalen 3D Facial Rigging
Systemen, für den Einsatz eines hybriden Stop-Motion Workflows. In diesem Workflow
werden digitale Gesichtsanimationen mit Stop-Motion animierten Körperbewegungen
verbunden. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es die beiden Systeme, das Joint-Based und das
Blendshape-Based System, systematisch miteinander zu vergleichen.\r\nDie Untersuchung
    innerhalb hybrider Stop-Motion Produktionen."

text: Numerous single-track railway lines are currently disused due to economic
factors. These lines could potentially be reactivated by small vehicles that utilise
only a single rail, enabling bidirectional operation simultaneously. The MONOCAB
is such a compact monorail vehicle, stabilised by a system of control moment gyroscopes
(CMGs) and a laterally movable, controllable trim mass. Despite their potential,
there is currently a lack of comparative references for MONOCABs in relation to
other vehicles. In the context of mechanical design and construction, interdependencies
with roll stabilisation occur. Of particular concern are torsional effects, which
can significantly impact stability. This study investigates the structural dynamics
of monorail vehicles with a focus on the influence of gyroscopes. Gyroscopic systems
play a significant role in the behaviour of such vehicles, affecting stability,
control and response to external disturbances. Through a comprehensive approach
encompassing analytical modelling, numerical simulations, and experimental validation,
the interactions between the vehicle's structure and gyroscopic components are
explored. The analytical considerations are validated via experimentally derived
frequency responses utilising a full-scale monorail vehicle. The results of this
study have implications for various fields, such as transportation, robotics and
    aerospace engineering.

text: 'The effect of jet Reynolds number, jet exit angle, the nozzle to surface
distance, jet to jet spacing on the heat transfer, and pressure force performance
from multiple impinging round jets on a moving curved surface have been numerically
evaluated. Two correlations are developed and validated for the average Nu number
and the pressure force coefficient and the agreement between the CFD and correlations
was reasonable. The surface motion effect becomes more pronounced on the Nu number
distribution for low jet Re number, high jet to jet spacing, large jet to surface
distance, and angled jets. The pressure force coefficient is highly dependent
on the jet to surface distance and jet angle but relatively insensitive to jet
Re number and jet to jet spacing. '

text: The effect of jet arrangement, jet Re number, jet exit angle (θ), the nozzle-to-surface
distance (H/d), jet-to-jet spacing (S/d) on the heat transfer, and pressure force
performance from multiple impinging round jets on a moving flat surface have been
numerically evaluated. There is a minor difference between in-line and staggered
arrangements on a moving flat surface. The averaged Nusselt number on a moving
flat surface reduces with an increase in the relative velocity (VR). The surface
motion effects become more pronounced on the local Nu distribution at low Re,
small S/d, large H/d, and angled jets for a moving flat surface. The pressure
force coefficient on a moving flat surface is highly dependent on the H/d and
θ but relatively insensitive to the VR, Re, and S/d within the range examined.
Two correlations are developed and validated for the average Nu and force coefficient
and the agreement between the CFD and correlation is found to be reasonable.

text: The dynamic emulation of mechanical loads is required in a variety of applications
to test and validate control algorithms. Typical test setups consist of two mechanically
coupled motors, one of which is the Device Under Test (DUT) while the other is
used as a load drive for emulation. Existing emulation concepts either rely on
the differentiation of velocity feedback or utilize measured quantities of the
DUT. The emulation method proposed in this paper uses acceleration feedback to
control the torque of the load drive. It does not require any measured quantities
of the DUT which allows a simple replacement of the DUT’s motor and/or inverter
without the need of any conceptual changes. Based on a physical model, the emulation
method is derived analytically and analyzed numerically for the emulation of one-mass-systems.
The stability and emulation quality is evaluated considering two controller architectures.
Finally, experiments are conducted and compared to numeric simulations to test
    the correct emulation.

text: Today, mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.) are widespread and of high
importance for their users. Their performance as well as versatility increases
over time. This leads to the opportunity to use such devices for more specific
tasks like image processing in an industrial context. For the analysis of images
requirements like image quality (blur, illumination, etc.) as well as a defined
relative position of the object to be inspected are crucial. Since mobile devices
are handheld and used in constantly changing environments the challenge is to
fulfill these requirements. We present an approach to overcome the obstacles and
stabilize the image capturing process such that image analysis becomes significantly
improved on mobile devices. Therefore, image processing methods are combined with
sensor fusion concepts. The approach consists of three main parts. First, pose
estimation methods are used to guide a user moving the device to a defined position.
Second, the sensors data and the pose information are combined for relative motion
estimation. Finally, the image capturing process is automated. It is triggered
depending on the alignment of the device and the object as well as the image quality
that can be achieved under consideration of motion and environmental effects.

text: Our goal is to develop a system for coaching human motions (e.g., for rehabilitation
and daily health maintenance). This paper focuses on how to coach a user so that
his/her motion gets closer to the good template of a target motion. It is important
to efficiently advise the user to emulate the crucial features that define the
good template. The proposed system (1) automatically mines the crucial features
of any kind of motion from a set of motion features and (2) gives the user feedback
about how to modify the motion through an intuitive interface. The crucial features
are mined by feature sparsification through binary classification between the
samples of good and other motions. An interface for motion coaching is designed
to give feedback via different channels (e.g., visually, aurally), depending on
the type of error. To use the total system, all the user must do is just move
and then get feedback on the motion. Following experimental results, open problems
    for future work are discussed.

text: Our goal is to develop a system for coaching human motions (e.g. rehabilitation).
Such a coaching system should have several function such as motion measurement,
evaluation, and feedback. Among all, this paper focuses on how to modify a user’s
motion so that it gets closer to the good template of a target motion. To this
end, it is important to efficiently advise the user to emulate the crucial features
that define the good template. The proposed method automatically mines the crucial
features of any kind of motions from a set of all motion features. The crucial
features are mined based on feature sparsification through binary classification
between the samples of good and other motions.

text: The development of a widely applicable automatic motion coaching system requires
one to address a lot of issues including motion capturing, motion analysis and
comparison, error detection as well as error feedback. In order to cope with this
complexity, most existing approaches focus on a specific motion sequence or exercise.
As a first step towards the development of a more generic system, this paper systematically
analyzes different error and feedback types. A prototype of a feedback system
that addresses multiple modalities is presented. The system allows to evaluate
the applicability of the proposed feedback techniques for arbitrary types of motions
    in a next step.
