text: Urban Nature-based Solutions (NBS) are hypothesized to play an important role
in promoting health, but most of the evidence is cross-sectional. This study aims
to examine the effects of an integrated urban intervention with NBS at its core,
implemented in the Nantes Nord district on residents' physical activity, social
activity, environmental quality of life and social network as well as self-rated
health and mental health. Analysing 902 observations from 2 datasets, pre- and
post-intervention, we categorized 802 participants within Nantes Nord as the treatment
group and 100 from other districts as the control group. We used Propensity Score
Matching to adjust for selection bias in the dataset and Difference-in-Differences
analysis to evaluate changes in physical activity, socializing activities, social
networks, environmental quality of life, as well as self-rated health and mental
health outcomes. Our results indicate that the urban tranformation with NBS at
its core was associated with a significant increase in physical activity levels
and to some extent in social ties. However, no immediate improvements were noticeable
in socializing activities, environmental quality of life, or health outcomes,
suggesting a latency in the broader effects of such interventions. This study
underscores the immediate effects of the integrated NBS intervention on physical
activity as a precursor to potentially more significant health benefits, which
should be followed up with a more mid-to-long-term evaluation of such NBS interventions.
Our findings advocate for the integration of connected green space corridors in
urban planning to facilitate active lifestyles as sustainable commitments by local
    authorities and stakeholders.

text: The current era, characterized by rapid digitalization, globalization and
environmental issues, poses unique challenges and opportunities for both the educational
sector and professional development. Increasingly, the research community calls
for future-oriented skills as well as attitudes and values as underlying implicit
concepts in order to meet the needs of today’s complex demands. These skills and
implicit concepts include responsibility, inclusiveness, reflexivity, anticipation,
data literacy or digital and interdisciplinary working. Some of them are based
on facts and are therefore teachable, while others seem to be a matter of personal
attitude and socialization and are therefore difficult to convey. In this paper
we suggest educators to change their specialized knowledge-teaching settings into
transdisciplinary learning contexts [1] and thus enabling transformative, situated,
experiential and informal learning. We provide theoretical examples in which these
didactic methodologies seem to be effective in order to impart these skills and
reinforce the underlying implicit concepts. We will dive deeper into these arguments
during the conference, while participants are encouraged to discuss the various
elements that influence the concepts in the context of transdisciplinary learning.
In
(Autor)

text: The digital transformation of manufacturing companies is a huge driver of
complexity in organizational structures and processes. Challenges such as an increasing
number of variants, rapid changes in technology, and a multitude of interfaces
between IT systems within companies require changed qualifications in the workforce.
Employees lack a profound understanding of the added value that digitalization
can bring to the company and themselves. To address these challenges, simulation
games are a suitable approach. Simulation games are active learning methods that
simulate real systems in an artificial environment. The goal is to give employees
the opportunity to gain experience and make decisions without creating a pressure
situation or endangering the real production system. This enables them to better
understand, evaluate and design real systems. In order to make optimal use of
simulation games in manufacturing companies, they should be customized to the
company and its employees due to individual processes and structures. This paper
presents a procedure model for designing a concept of individualized simulation
games for manufacturing companies in the context of digitalization. It starts
with the identification of requirements. Subsequently, the requirements of the
individual elements are combined into a holistic simulation game. The piloting
of the framework is presented using an example from industrial practice.

text: "This bachelor thesis explores the adaptive reuse of the former Telekom high-rise
at Kesselbrink in Bielefeld, a vacant modernist office tower awaiting new purpose.
The project proposes a mixed-use transformation that reinterprets the building
as a “city within the city,” inspired by Le Corbusier’s Unité d’Habitation in
Marseille. The existing structure is strategically reduced to its essential load-bearing
concrete frame and floor slabs, preserving the structural skeleton while enabling
radical spatial reconfiguration.\r\nPrefabricated timber modules are inserted
and cantilevered between the reinforced-concrete columns, extending the usable
floor area and introducing a warm, contemporary material contrast to the original
façade. This intervention not only increases density and flexibility but also
redefines the tower’s appearance, giving it a cosmopolitan and forward-looking
architectural identity. The ground floor is conceived as an open and publicly
accessible urban platform, activating the surrounding plaza and strengthening
social interaction. Upper floors are redesigned as affordable and attractive living
spaces for young residents, encouraging a diverse and vibrant community within
the building.\r\nA newly designed park-like rooftop landscape provides recreational
space and panoramic views over the city, enhancing environmental quality and urban
connectivity. By combining structural preservation, modular timber construction,
public programming, and residential reuse, the proposal demonstrates how high-rise
retrofitting can generate social, ecological, and economic value simultaneously.
The project positions adaptive reuse as a viable strategy for sustainable urban
    regeneration and architectural longevity."

text: Reading about small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in newspapers
and magazines, one might get the impression that integrating and exploiting new
digital technologies is one of the most urgent challenges for managers today.
Although many different industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) tests have been
published, a framework to structure the content and the process of digital transformation
is missing. Therefore, comprehensive research of available literature has been
implemented; the results show that the framework from Appelfeller and Feldmann
is the most suitable for application in companies. Due to the fact that the authors
present no acquired experience in the application of the framework in practice,
an evaluation study was set up in companies. The results of a case study are presented
and an overview is given how to implement this specific check in a company.

text: "In future, advancing digitalization will entail extensive change for businesses.
To date, there are only sporadically implemented examples of Smart Factories and
these are rather technically (specifically information technology) oriented. Phoenix
Contact therefore decided to use a tailor-made approach to implement the digital
transition towards becoming a Smart Factory. With the participation of the senior
management affected, other internal support areas and the works council, an image
of the future for the Smart Factory was developed. Based on the main future processes
the appropriate organizational structure was selected and all participants could
now be trained in the performance of new tasks. In addition, this allows for technological
concepts to be chosen and judiciously incorporated in further stages. In this
paper, the “SmartOrg@Combicon” project will be illustrated as the initial phase
in the course of Smart Factory implementation.\r\n"

text: "The rapid growth of optical imaging technologies increased the access and
collection of data, which boosts the demand of data and knowledge discovery. This
is a fast growing topic in several industry and research areas. Nowadays, a large
number of images and signals must be analysed in order to gain and learn proper
knowledge. Detecting images with similar contents without specifying an image,
recently attracts the researches in image processing domain. Motif discovery in
image processing aims to tackle the problem of deriving structures or detecting
regularities in image databases. Most of the motif discovery methods solve this
problem by converting images into one dimensional time series in a pre-processing
step and then applying a motif discovery on these one dimensional time series
for image motifs detection. Nevertheless, this conversion might lead to information
loss and also the problem of inability to discover shifted and multi-scale image
motifs of different size. Contrary to other approaches, here, a method is proposed
to find image motifs of different size in image data sets by employing images
in original dimension (2D) without converting them to one dimensional time series.\r\nThe
proposed approach consists of three steps: Mapping or transformation, feature
extraction and measuring similarities. First, images are inspected by the Complex
Quad Tree Wavelet Packet transform, which provides broad frequency analysis of
an image in various scales. Next, statistical features are extracted from the
wavelet coefficients. Finally, image motifs are detected by measuring the similarity
of the features applying various similarity measures. Here, the performance of
six similarity measures are benchmarked in details. Moreover, the efficiency of
the proposed method is demonstrated on a data set with images from diverse applications
such as hand gesture, text recognition, leaf and plant identification, etc. Additionally,
the robustness of this method is examined with the image data overlaying with
distortions such as noise and blur."

In
der Anwendung der Druckbildinspektion erweist sich das Mustererkennungssystem
    als praxisgerecht einsetzbar.

text: ' Image retrieval, texture analysis, optical character recognition and
general inspection tasks are of main interest in the field of image processing
and pattern recognition. Methods which operate automatically are of interest in
the above mentioned areas. Therefore, translation invariant transforms are helpful
tools for pattern recognition tasks. Nonlinear spatial transforms and fuzzy pattern
classification with unimodal potential functions are established in signal processing.
They have proved to be excellent tools in feature extraction and classification.
In this thesis nonlinear discrete transforms, which are adaptable for different
application tasks, will be presented. The adaptivity includes the group specific
behaviour, the amount of calculations and the implementability in application
specific integrated circuits. The pattern separability properties of these transforms
are better compared to that of the well known power spectrum of the Fourier transform
and several other known transforms. Furthermore, a hardware accelerator image
processing and classification system will presented, which is implemented on one
field programmable gate array (FPGA). The system can be used for feature extraction,
pattern recognition and classification tasks. In the field of printed image inspection
the system is applicable under practical aspects.'
