  abstract     = {{Occupant satisfaction in office spaces is a critical factor influencing occupant’s productivity, satisfaction and overall workplace experience. This systematic review examines the methodologies and approaches used to assess occupant satisfaction with office space design, identifying key evaluation tools and research trends. The study explores the extent to which existing methodologies integrate environmental, spatial and design factors to provide a comprehensive understanding of user experience. Additionally, it highlights the limitations in current assessment tools, including the lack of standardised frameworks for capturing occupant feedback at different stages of the design process. The findings suggest a growing shift towards data-driven and real-time feedback mechanisms to enhance workplace adaptability. By synthesising existing research, this review aims to provide insights for designers, facility managers and policymakers to refine evaluation methods and integrate occupant-centric strategies into office space planning.}},

  abstract     = {{As companies increasingly adopt software applications to improve business efficiency, often digitization gaps arise when legacy systems fail to integrate with new applications. These gaps often result in redundant task execution across incompatible systems. Robotic Process Automation (RPA) emerges as a solution by automating such tasks. However, selecting the right processes that will be subjected to RPA is crucial to avoid failures and resource waste. Therefore, this paper introduces a four-stage method to evaluate processes for RPA suitability, grounded on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). By systematically analyzing scientific literature and incorporating weights from RPA experts, this paper sheds light on the complex nature of process selection criteria for RPA. Tested in a company, the method facilitates the process selection, indicating its practical applicability.}},

Security risk assessments play a major role to ensure a secure operation of Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACSs) but are mostly neglected due to missing resources and a lack of human experts for the sophisticated manual tasks. Therefore, a method for information and process modelling regarding the automation of security risk assessments has been previously designed, but not yet evaluated. This work in progress begins the evaluation of the automated security risk assessment concept by investigating the related work and identifying the main deficits. The results include a requirements analysis for the verification and an outlook towards future evaluation aspects.}},

  abstract     = {{The Toyota Production System became well-known in the 90s and stands for highly efficient processes. The success of the production system stems from its methods and its focus on human factors. For some years, production research has focused on the topic of digital manufacturing. This technology-oriented approach is pursued quite independently of the Toyota Production System. As a result, technical solutions may prove incompatible with the Lean philosophy. Therefore, operational practice must link the Lean philosophy with new technologies in order to make work processes and material flows productive and ergonomic simultaneously. As a part of their education in industrial engineering at the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and Arts, students learn all current Lean methods by means of business games. One of these has been supplemented with information technology components. The objective of this article is to introduce this business game and to explain its didactic concept.}},

With the help of assistance systems, the process of information absorption and processing can be designed in a more economical and human-oriented way. Despite the potentials of such systems, companies pay too little attention to the informational design of assembly systems, resulting in a number of significant deficits in information management. To identify such deficits in operational practice, a questionnaire has been developed. This allows the potential use of informational assistance systems for an assembly system to be estimated. In this article, results from an exploratory factor analysis of the developed instrument will be presented and interpreted as a basis for the further development of the questionnaire.}},

To support project managers, designers and developers in the critical selection process we have developed a checklist of important aspects and related evaluation hints that helps to speed up and improve the selection process. The checklist presented in this paper was designed to be useful for both researchers and practitioners. It combines pertinent information from relevant standards like ISO 9241-210 with results from current research literature and experience from several AR projects in industrial contexts. It can be applied both in collaboration with AR experts, where it helps to prepare relevant information for the collaboration and thus streamlines the process, or stand-alone, as a guideline for the evaluation of different options by a design team. }},

  abstract     = {{Today, usability measures for the evaluation of systems and interfaces are mostly assessed in an isolated way. This paper addresses the question whether an integrative multi-dimensional feature evaluation can lead to different and more holistic results. We combined traditional measures (e.g., time to task completion) with advanced measures, like eye tracking, biosignal data logging and assessment of user emotions. For the evaluation of emotions, we used verbal methods (PAD Semantic Scale and a questionnaire) and a nonverbal method with EmoCards. The overall goal was to document and analyze the interaction as completely as possible (including effectiveness, efficiency and user satisfaction), focusing especially on objective measurements. Furthermore, the recording and assessment of emotions, which are part of the user experience, should give insights into user satisfaction.}},

  abstract     = {{Within the last years the concept of trust has attracted increased attention in the field of smart home environments. However, little is known about what determines trustworthiness in this context. For this reason the objective was to examine mental models in terms of anthropomorphic perception of smart home environments and its relation to trustworthiness. Two studies (N=36) were carried out in the Future Care Lab, a simulated intelligent home environment. We used the teach-back method to help participants to talk about the smart home environment technology and asked to generate a metaphor of an experienced home-monitoring scenario. Finally, we applied linguistic analysis of responses to detect anthropomorphic characteristics. In general, results demonstrate inspiring metaphors related to the personal assistance system, e.g. "like an airbag…" or "like a family member…", which might be useful for future interface designs and approaches of communication in the context of smart home environments. However, no relation of anthropomorphism and trustworthiness could be found. Therefore, we suggest an anthropomorphic threshold, which should be investigated by using an improved method and trust scale.}},

The focus of the study is on three aspects: the general willingness to provide different types of context information, the acceptance of manual and automated data capturing mechanisms and the identification of personal and cultural differences among users.   abstract     = {{The performance investigation of different Bluetooth modules needs a module independent approach, which can be used in real time and which allows to consider different Bluetooth modules and communication modes. This paper will give a description of a special measurement approach that was developed and implemented. The performance-parameters Bluetooth-Packet-Delay, Bit Error Rate (BER) and Packet Loss Rate (PLR) are evaluated. A series of first investigations was conducted using the implemented measurement approach to show the evaluation possibilities.   abstract     = {{This paper deals with a performance evaluation of a Bluetooth based industrial real-time sensor actuator interface for stationary and mobile applications. The investigations were carried out in harsh industrial environments in the presence of parasitic machine emissions, intentional and unintentional interferers. The air paths were obstructed by moving machine parts and daily work traffic. As a result we can conclude, that wireless automation systems based on Bluetooth technology are extremely reliable due to their inherent system features like adaptive frequency hopping at high operating frequencies, error detection and correction. Neither parasitic machine emissions nor other radio systems or transceiver movements can impair the transmission, as long as distances are below 30 m}},

In a first step, a formative evaluation was conducted in order to analyze the requirements of potential users regarding the protection of private information on large public displays. The insights gained in this evaluation were used to design a system, which automatically adapts the information visible on public displays according to the current social situation and the individual privacy preferences of the user working on the display. The developed system was evaluated regarding its appropriateness for daily usage and its usefulness to protect privacy.}},

  abstract     = {{Several evaluations of team awareness systems showed, that interruptions and privacy violations during usage often lead to the rejection of the system by users. Most authors argue that this rejection is due to a fundamental dual trade-off between sending awareness information and privacy, and between receiving awareness information and disruption or resource consumption. While the assumption of a fundamental trade-off is widely accepted in state-of-the-art research, this paper disputes the predominant hypothesis. Instead, it is argued, that the trade-off is not of fundamental nature, but caused by neglecting elementary aspects in the design process. In order to verify this line of argument, a novel interface concept for mediating socio-emotional awareness information is presented. To verify the validity of the conceptual approach, several evaluations were conducted. The evaluations verified the approach of this paper and showed, that a cautious interface design can enhance user privacy in multi-user awareness systems and minimize disruptive effects on primary tasks, without reducing awareness mediation and usability.}},
