@misc{12246, abstract = {{In lakes, trophic change and climate change shift the relationship between nutrients and physical factors, like temperature and photoperiod, and interactions between these factors should affect the growth of phytoplankton species differently. We therefore determined the relationship between P-limited specific growth rates and P-quota (biovolume basis) of Stephanodiscus minutulus and Nitzschia acicularis (diatoms) at or near light saturation in axenic, semi-continuous culture at 10, 15 and 20 °C and at 6, 9 and 12 h d−1 photoperiod. Photoperiod treatments were performed at constant daily light exposure to allow comparison. Under these conditions, we also performed competition experiments and estimated relative P-uptake rates of the species. Temperature strongly affected P-limited growth rates and relative P uptake rates, whereas photoperiod only affected maximum growth rates. S. minutulus used internal P more efficiently than N. acicularis. N. acicularis was the superior competitor for P due to a higher relative uptake rate and its superiority increased with increasing temperature and photoperiod. S. minutulus conformed to the Droop relationship but N. acicularis did not. A model with a temperature-dependent normalised half-saturation coefficient adequately described the factor interactions of both species. The temperature dependence of the quota model reflected each species’ specific adaptation to its ecological niche. The results demonstrate that increases in temperature or photoperiod can partially compensate for a decrease in P-quota under moderately limiting conditions, like during spring in temperate lakes. Two studies (N=36) were carried out in the Future Care Lab, a simulated intelligent home environment. We used the teach-back method to help participants to talk about the smart home environment technology and asked to generate a metaphor of an experienced home-monitoring scenario. Finally, we applied linguistic analysis of responses to detect anthropomorphic characteristics. In general, results demonstrate inspiring metaphors related to the personal assistance system, e.g. "like an airbag…" or "like a family member…", which might be useful for future interface designs and approaches of communication in the context of smart home environments. However, no relation of anthropomorphism and trustworthiness could be found. In the first study (n=12 participants between 19-71 years of age), we analyzed user knowledge about technical processes using the teach-back methodology. In the second study, we additionally applied new developed questionnaires and analyzed participants’ data (n=24 participants between 19-76 years of age) regarding relations of user factors, users’ knowledge about technical processes and attitudes such as privacy and security of technology-enhanced environments. In contrast to existing assumptions, the results showed that general structural knowledge about technical processes was not related with attitudes such as privacy and security. Light fluctuations at zeu : zmix = 1 decreased the growth rates of S. minutulus, N. acicularis, and L. redekei by 18%, 33%, and 29%, respectively, compared to constant light at the same daily light supply. Temperature had no effect on this decrease. Halving zeu : zmix (simulating deep mixing) had the same effect on growth as halving the photoperiod, demonstrating that these factors are cumulative. We introduce a simple empirical factor to adjust growth rates measured under constant light to account for fluctuating light. This factor is independent of temperature and photoperiod, applies over a range of zeu : zmix, and accurately describes present and published growth rates of several species. It shall avoid printing errors by combining measuring data from several sensors with expert knowledge. The inspection quality is improved by acquiring several information sources, using different physical quantities, integrating expert knowledge and perception, extracting reasonable features, and generating intuitive results. The TLCS (Two Layer Conflict Solving) approach is based on the Evidence Theory and uses conflict solving to fuse data. The first layer applies the Conflict Modified Dempster-Shafer-Theory (CMDST). Every two sensors‘ data are combined and conflicts are solved between individuals. In the second layer the data is fused using the results from the CMDST and the sensors’ original observations by the Group Conflict Redistribution (GCR). We introduce an improvement of the TLCS approach with reference to highly complex machine conditioning applications. In this context, the sensors are grouped to attributes applying expert knowledge. The fusion of the fuzzyfied sensor’s observations that are elements of one particular attribute is accomplished by the TLCS. Subsequently, the attributes’ conditions are merged using an Ordered Weighted Averaging Operator. In security printing machines the wiping unit is the most sensible part. It is responsible for removing surplus ink around the engravings. Even small parameter manipulations cause errors during the production. Experienced machine operators recognize errors before they occur and stabilize the production by changing wiping unit parameters mainly. The fusion approach is evaluated in a wiping simulator. Current, impact sound, temperature and force are acquired and processed. The study explores the acceptance and terms of use of large interactive screens for the most common applications types: health, social and convenience services. In order to understand the impact of user diversity, we explored age, gender, health status, social contact, interest in technology, and the reported ease of use as well as their relation to acceptance. Using the questionnaire method, 30 women and 30 men between 17-95 years were examined. The results show that users are not yet very familiar with the vision of smart technology at home and report a considerable diffidence and aloofness towards using such technologies. Persons with many social contacts and a high interest in technology show the highest acceptance for electronic services at home. Astonishingly, the results for the different applications were insensitive to gender and age, which indicates that the precautious attitude towards AAL applications represents a universal phenomenon. Damit setzt die deutsche Wirtschaft ihren moderaten Erholungskurs der vergangenen Quartale fort. Zwar hat die Produktion im Winter überraschenderweise nur stagniert, dies ist aber auf Sondereffekte etwa im Zusammenhang mit den Konjunkturprogrammen zurückzuführen. Angesichts des moderaten Wachstumstempos wird die Wirtschaftskraft am Ende des Prognosezeitraums 2011 nur noch leicht unter dem Vorkrisenniveau liegen. Getrieben wird die leichte Erholung der Konjunktur 2010 größtenteils von der Auslandsnachfrage; rund zwei Drittel der Zunahme der Produktion dürften aus der Verbesserung des Außenbeitrags kommen. 2011 ist dagegen die Binnennachfrage der stärkste Wachstumstreiber. Während der private Konsum 2010 aufgrund der vorhandenen Arbeitsplatzunsicherheit und niedriger Lohnabschlüsse noch schwach bleibt, ist 2011 mit einem Zuwachs von einem Prozent zu rechnen. Der massive Rückgang der Wirtschaftsleistung 2009 hat sich weit weniger als befürchtet auf die Entwicklung der Beschäftigung ausgewirkt. Der wichtigste Grund dafür war, dass die Krise weitgehend auf den Exportsektor begrenzt blieb. Derzeit spricht viel dafür, dass die Talsohle auf dem Arbeitsmarkt bereits durchschritten ist und sich sogar ein leichter Rückgang der Arbeitslosigkeit einstellen wird. Mit einem kräftigen Aufschwung bei der Beschäftigung ist allerdings nicht zu rechnen. Zwar liegt das Wachstum im Prognosezeitraum über der Schwelle, ab der Beschäftigung aufgebaut wird, der vorherige Absturz der Produktion steht aber einem deutlichen Zuwachs der Beschäftigung entgegen. Die Lage der öffentlichen Haushalte bleibt hochgradig angespannt. Tatsächlich ist 2010 und 2011 eher mit geringeren Steuereinnahmen zu rechnen, als dies noch zur Jahreswende prognostiziert worden war. This research contributes to this topic by investigating the acceptance motives of aged users with different health states regarding three different implementation concepts for medical technologies: medical technology implemented in mobile devices, smart environments and smart clothing. Using the questionnaire method, a total of 82 users between 40 and 92 years of age were examined regarding their usage motives and barriers with respect to the different technology concepts. Da der Dienstleistungssektor, zu dem unter anderem die Wirtschaftsbereiche Handel, Verkehr, Kreditinstitute, Versicherungsunternehmen und Wohnungsvermietung gehören, hinsichtlich seiner Struktur recht heterogen ist, wird im folgenden beispielhaft die Dienstleistungsbranche des stationären Einzelhandels betrachtet. Um das dargestellte Ziel dieses Beitrages zu erreichen, wird in einem ersten Schritt die Dienstleistungsbranche des Einzelhandels kurz charakterisiert. In einem zweiten Schritt wird eine Typologisierung von Arbeit vorgenommen. Dieser Schritt ist notwendig, da die Anwendungsmöglichkeiten und -grenzen von Methoden der Zeitwirtschaft nicht alleine an einem Wirtschaftssektor, wie dem Dienstleistungssektor, noch an einer Dienstleistungsbranche, sondern ausschließlich an den Merkmalen von Tätigkeiten aufgezeigt werden können. In einem dritten Schritt werden Tätigkeiten typischer Mitarbeitergruppen aus der Dienstleistungsbranche des Einzelhandels in die Typologie eingeordnet. This principle can be used for feature extraction, pattern recognition, and classification tasks. Furthermore, the pattern separability properties of these transforms are better than those achieved with the well-known method based on the power spectrum of the Fourier Transform, or on several other transforms. In dieser Arbeit werden reelle Transformationen vorgestellt, deren Eigenschaften in Bezug auf verschiedene Parameter angepasst werden können. Zu nennen ist das gruppeninvariante Verhalten, der rechentechnische Aufwand und die Implementierbarkeit in applikationsspezifische Schaltungen. Durch unterschiedliche Berechnungsstrukturen kann beispielsweise die Separationseigenschaft aufgabengemäß adaptiert werden. Basierend auf dem Konzept charakteristischer Matrizen wird ein generalisiertes Verfahren zur Berechnung der Transformationen abgeleitet. Bezüglich ihrer Charakteristika können die vorzustellenden Transformationen gegenüber anderen als ebenbürtig oder sogar überlegen bezeichnet werden. Diese hatte zum Ziel, das Einsparpotential an CO2-Emissionen durch energetische Sanierungsmaßnahmen innerhalb der ausgewählten Zielgemeinde zu ermitteln und Wege zur Realisierung dieses Einsparpotentials aufzuzeigen. Die Untersuchung der Frage, warum Energiesparmaßnahmen in vielen Fällen unterbleiben, erfordert eine interdisziplinäre Herangehensweise. Anhand einer in zwei Teilen angelegten schriftlichen Befragung der Bürger konnten u. a. Sie blieben auf einzelne Produktionsabteilungen beschränkt und konnten daher allenfalls suboptimale Wirkungen erzielen. Auch hat mit zunehmender Zahl von Veränderungsprojekten bei Mitarbeitern und Führungskräften die Einsicht in deren Nutzen abgenommen und den vielen Beteiligten waren Zusammenhänge der Projekte untereinander nicht mehr ersichtlich. Ganzheitliche Produktionssysteme (GPS) wirken diesen Problemen entgegen. Sie bringen alle in der Produktion gültigen Konzepte und Instrumente in einen Ordnungsrahmen, der für alle Mitarbeiter und Führungskräfte Transparenz und Orientierung schafft. Außerdem führt dies dazu, dass Redundanzen und Zielkonflikte zwischen einzelnen Konzepten sowie konzeptionelle Schwachstellen und Lücken leichter erkannt und vermieden werden können. Mit Hilfe eines GPS können also organisatorische und technische Veränderungen zielgerichteter und systematischer geplant werden und nachhaltiger wirken. "Extrem kurz" bedeutet in diesem Zusammenhang 140 bis 1600 Femtosekunden. In dieser Zeit kann sich das Licht nur etwa einen zehntel bis einen halben Millimeter ausdehnen. Die Fokussierung dieser Strahlung erzeugt elektrische Felder, die denen im Innern eines Atoms entsprechen. Bei der Wechselwirkung von Clustern mit solchen L.aserpulsen sind interessante Effekte zu beobachten: Es entstehen in Bereichen niedriger Laserintensität mehrfach geladene Pt- und Pb-Cluster. Deren kleinste auftretende Größe kann mit den Voraussagen des Tröpfchenmodells verglichen werden. Direkt in dem Fokus der Laserstrahlung, dort wo die Materie den obigen extremen Feldern ausgesetzt wird, ist die Stärke der Anregung so groß, daß die Cluster vollständig in hochgeladene Atome zerfallen. Es zelgt sich eine interessante Abhängigkeit der erreichbaren Aufladung der Atome (L.adungszustand) von der Länge des Laserpulses. Ein einfaches Modell aus Epansion und optischer Respons des Clusters kann diesen Effekt qualitativ erklären. Vergleichsmessungen an Kohlenstoff zeigen nicht dieses Verhalten.
