[{"publication_status":"published","department":[{"_id":"DEP5023"}],"abstract":[{"text":"Nonlinear spatial transforms and fuzzy pattern classification with unimodal potential functions are established in signal processing. They have proved to be excellent tools in feature extraction and classification. In this paper, we will present a hardware-accelerated image processing and classification system which is implemented on one field-programmable gate array (FPGA). Nonlinear discrete circular transforms generate a feature vector. The features are analyzed by a fuzzy classifier. This principle can be used for feature extraction, pattern recognition, and classification tasks. Implementation in radix-2 structures is possible, allowing fast calculations with a computational complexity of up to. Furthermore, the pattern separability properties of these transforms are better than those achieved with the well-known method based on the power spectrum of the Fourier Transform, or on several other transforms. Mit Hilfe schneller nichtlinearer Spektraltransformationen ist eine positionsinvariante Merkmalgewinnung möglich. In dieser Arbeit werden reelle Transformationen vorgestellt, deren Eigenschaften in Bezug auf verschiedene Parameter angepasst werden können. Zu nennen ist das gruppeninvariante Verhalten, der rechentechnische Aufwand und die Implementierbarkeit in applikationsspezifische Schaltungen. Durch unterschiedliche Berechnungsstrukturen kann beispielsweise die Separationseigenschaft aufgabengemäß adaptiert werden. Basierend auf dem Konzept charakteristischer Matrizen wird ein generalisiertes Verfahren zur Berechnung der Transformationen abgeleitet. Bezüglich ihrer Charakteristika können die vorzustellenden Transformationen gegenüber anderen als ebenbürtig oder sogar überlegen bezeichnet werden. Methods which operate automatically are of interest in the above mentioned areas. Therefore, translation invariant transforms are helpful tools for pattern recognition tasks. Nonlinear spatial transforms and fuzzy pattern classification with unimodal potential functions are established in signal processing. They have proved to be excellent tools in feature extraction and classification. In this thesis nonlinear discrete transforms, which are adaptable for different application tasks, will be presented. The adaptivity includes the group specific behaviour, the amount of calculations and the implementability in application specific integrated circuits. The pattern separability properties of these transforms are better compared to that of the well known power spectrum of the Fourier transform and several other known transforms. Furthermore, a hardware accelerator image processing and classification system will presented, which is implemented on one field programmable gate array (FPGA). The system can be used for feature extraction, pattern recognition and classification tasks. Der vorliegende Aufsatz berichtet über die Ergebnisse der durch die Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt geförderten Studie \"Energetische Sanierung der Bausubstanz in Riedstadt/Leeheim\". Diese hatte zum Ziel, das Einsparpotential an CO2-Emissionen durch energetische Sanierungsmaßnahmen innerhalb der ausgewählten Zielgemeinde zu ermitteln und Wege zur Realisierung dieses Einsparpotentials aufzuzeigen. Die Untersuchung der Frage, warum Energiesparmaßnahmen in vielen Fällen unterbleiben, erfordert eine interdisziplinäre Herangehensweise. Anhand einer in zwei Teilen angelegten schriftlichen Befragung der Bürger konnten u. a. Informationen zu deren persönlichen Lebensumständen, Präferenzen und Wertordnungen eingeholt werden mit dem Ziel, die Möglichkeiten einer Motivierung der Hausbesitzer zu energetischen Sanierungsmaßnahmen zu identifizieren und zu erproben. The issues are: 1) supporting informal communication and atmosphere in organisations, 2) the role and potential of ambient displays in future work environments, and 3) the combination of mostly static artefacts that are integrated in the architectural environment with mobile devices carried by people. Our results can be considered as steps towards the design and realization of what we call “social architectural spaces” in the context of future work environments. These environments will be populated with a range of different smart artefacts that are designed to facilitate awareness and notification as well as informal communication. We address a range of spaces in office buildings including public spaces, e.g., in the hallway, the foyer, and the cafeteria that have not been the focus of research so far. In particular, we present two artefacts: the Hello.Wall, a wall-size large ambient display, and the ViewPort, a mobile handheld device. They are interacting with each other via wireless networks and different types of sensing technology. Der erwünschte nachhaltige Erfolg blieb\r\nindes bei zahlreichen Projekten aus. Die Ursachen dafür sind vielfältig. Oft haben sich Veränderungsprojekte zu wenig an den unternehmensspezifischen Anforderungen orientiert. Sie blieben auf einzelne Produktionsabteilungen\r\nbeschränkt und konnten daher allenfalls suboptimale Wirkungen erzielen. Auch hat mit zunehmender Zahl von Veränderungsprojekten bei Mitarbeitern und Führungskräften die Einsicht in deren Nutzen abgenommen und\r\nden vielen Beteiligten waren Zusammenhänge der Projekte untereinander nicht mehr ersichtlich. Ganzheitliche Produktionssysteme (GPS) wirken diesen Problemen entgegen. Sie bringen alle in der Produktion gültigen Konzepte und Instrumente in einen Ordnungsrahmen, der für alle Mitarbeiter und Führungskräfte Transparenz und Orientierung schafft. Außerdem führt dies dazu, dass Redundanzen und Zielkonflikte zwischen einzelnen Konzepten sowie konzeptionelle Schwachstellen und Lücken leichter erkannt und vermieden werden können. In addition, the faculty members keep in close contact with potential employers by supervising students during their professional practical training and by joint projects. In dieser Zeit kann sich das Licht nur etwa einen zehntel bis einen halben Millimeter ausdehnen. Die Fokussierung dieser Strahlung erzeugt elektrische Felder,\r\ndie denen im Innern eines Atoms entsprechen. \r\nBei der Wechselwirkung von Clustern mit solchen L.aserpulsen sind interessante Effekte zu beobachten: Es entstehen in Bereichen niedriger Laserintensität mehrfach geladene Pt- und Pb-Cluster. Deren kleinste auftretende Größe kann mit den Voraussagen des Tröpfchenmodells verglichen werden. Direkt in dem Fokus der Laserstrahlung, dort wo die Materie den obigen extremen Feldern ausgesetzt wird, ist die Stärke der Anregung so groß, daß die Cluster vollständig\r\nin hochgeladene Atome zerfallen. Es zelgt sich eine interessante Abhängigkeit der erreichbaren Aufladung der Atome (L.adungszustand) von der Länge des Laserpulses.\r\n\r\nEin einfaches Modell aus Epansion und optischer Respons des Clusters kann diesen Effekt qualitativ erklären. Vergleichsmessungen an Kohlenstoff zeigen nicht dieses Verhalten. For small carbon clusters and fullerenes the abundance of charged species correlates with the laser power, while for metal clusters the ionization efficiency is additionally strongly affected by the chosen laser pulse width which may result in an enhanced up–charging of the metal particle. In the case of platinum atomic charge states up to z=20 are detected at a pulse duration of about 600 fs. This observation is in accordance with a model based on a multi–plasmon excitation process. Higher temperatures up to 0.79 eV are measured when inserting seeding gas which flushes the discharge volume with approx. one atmosphere of helium. An operation under this source conditions leads to the generation of an intense charged cluster beam. It is implemented as an additional outer control loop of an underlaid voltage andtravelling bending wave vector controller and verified by measurements on a prototype drive. Thenovel speed control is using an inverse contact model by a neural network, trained by measured valuesof speed and torque, in order to compensate the nonlinear torque generation of the motor. Since thereference values of the bending wave control are calculated from the desired torque value by the neu-ral network, first an open loop control of the drive ́s torque is feasible and second common speed con-trol schemes, well performing in common electrical drives, can be applied. Thus, the so equippedultrasonic motor-drive meets requirements for applications in the field of servo-drives e.g. robotics. Resonance-like peaks are observed in the optical spectra which can be attributed to collective electron excitations. In contrast to neutral and positively charged clusters, the resonance energies are far above the electron emission threshold. With decreasing cluster size the resonance positions distinctly shift towards lower energies. This red-shift is explained by an extension of a semi-empirical model by Liebsch which we previously used to interpret the blue-shift in AgN+ [J. Tiggesbäumker, L. Köller, K.H. Meiwes-Broer and A. Liebsch, Phys. Rev.
