It allows for gradually augmenting purely virtual games with elements from the real world, thus transferring computer entertainment to our physical realities.\r\nAs a proof of concept, we have implemented a tabletop role playing game called Caves & Creatures that can be played with varying proportions of physical and graphical interface components and will provide a test bed for different interaction device ensembles.","lang":"eng"}],"conference":{"location":"London, UK ; Ontario, Canada","start_date":"2006-10-10","end_date":"2006-1012","name":"Future Play 2006"},"type":"conference","author":[{"first_name":"Carsten","full_name":"Magerkurth, Carsten","last_name":"Magerkurth"},{"full_name":"Röcker, Carsten","last_name":"Röcker","id":"61525","first_name":"Carsten"},{"full_name":"Engelke, Timo","last_name":"Engelke","id":"75196","first_name":"Timo"}],"citation":{"havard":"C. The Smart Dice Cup is used in a similar way as a traditional leather dice cup to generate random numbers. Integrated accelerometers relate the shaking of the device to the resulting rolls of the dice. In addition to an autonomous stand-alone mode, where the Smart Dice Cup serves as self-sustained gaming system, the device is also capable of communicating with its surrounding environment serving as an input device for other pervasive gaming applications.","lang":"eng"}],"page":"211-216","conference":{"start_date":"2006-09-20","end_date":"2006-09-22","name":"5th International Conference - ICEC 2006","location":"Cambridge, UK"},"type":"conference","editor":[{"first_name":"Richard","full_name":"Harper, Richard","last_name":"Harper"},{"last_name":"Rauterberg","full_name":"Rauterberg, Matthias ","first_name":"Matthias "},{"first_name":"Marco ","full_name":"Combetto, Marco ","last_name":"Combetto"}],"publisher":"Springer","date_updated":"2023-03-15T13:49:55Z","doi":"10.1007/11872320_25"}]
