abstract = {{As a final work for the Master of Arts in Media Production at the Hochschule Ostwestfalen Lippe in Lemgo, Germany, I took on the task of producing a high quality narrative short film, which could also serve as a festival contender and calling card into the film industry. For this purpose I decided to produce a script with dramatic elements of genres like Drama and Mystery and step into the whole production process of making a Low-No-Budget film. The considerations taken in including elements of Genre, as well as taking a different look on a theme that has been very much exhausted in Germany, like the Berlin Wall, were major points in the developing of the story. Then also adhering to high standard film making in a No- Budget, student production, were major challenges that needed to be overcome. The process and result shows how film making dynamics and new forms of funding and producing can be now carried out with the help of new technologies and Internet presence, achieving high quality results with a very low or nonexistent budget.}},

abstract = {{Automatic sheet inspection in banknote production has been used as a standard quality control tool for more than a decade. As more and more print techniques and new security features are established, total quality in bank note printing must be guaranteed. This aspect has a direct impact on the research and development for bank note inspection systems in general in the sense of technological sustainability. It is accepted, that print defects are generated not only by printing parameter changes, but also by mechanical machine parameter changes, which will change unnoticed in production. Therefore, a new concept for a multi-sensory adaptive learning and classification model based on Fuzzy-Pattern- Classifiers for data inspection and machine conditioning is proposed. A general aim is to improve the known inspection techniques and propose an inspection methodology that can ensure a comprehensive quality control of the printed substrates processed by printing presses, especially printing presses which are designed to process substrates used in the course of the production of banknotes, security documents and others. Therefore, the research and development work in this area necessitates a change in concept for banknote inspection in general. In this paper a new generation of FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) based real time inspection technology is presented, which allows not only colour inspection on banknote sheets, but has also the implementation flexibility for various inspection algorithms for security features, such as window threads, embedded threads, OVDs, watermarks, screen printing etc., and multi-sensory data processing. A variety of algorithms is described in the paper, which are designed for and implemented on FPGAs. The focus is based on algorithmic approaches}},

abstract = {{Segmentation and feature extraction algorithms based on Wavelet Transform or Wavelet Packet Transform are established in pattern recognition. Especially in the field of texture analysis they are known to be practical. One difficulty of texture analysis was in the past the characterization of different printing processes. In this paper we present a new algorithmic concept to feature extraction of textures, printed by different printing techniques, without the necessity of a previous teaching phase. The typical characters of distinct printed textures are extracted by first order statistical moments of wavelet coefficients. The algorithm uses the 2D incomplete shift invariant Wavelet Packet Transform, resulting in a fast execution time of O(Nlog2(N)). Since the incomplete shift invariant Wavelet Packet Transform was exclusively defined for 1D-signals, it has been modified in this research. The application describes the detection of different printed security textures. }},

abstract = {{In this paper we present an optical measurement system approach for quality analysis of brakes which are used in high-speed trains. The brakes consist of the so called brake discs and pads. In a deceleration process the discs will be heated up to 500°C. The quality measure is based on the fact that the heated brake discs should not generate hot spots inside the brake material. Instead, the brake disc should be heated homogeneously by the deceleration. Therefore, it makes sense to analyze the number of hot spots and their relative gradients to create a quality measure for train brakes. In this contribution we present a new approach for a quality measurement system which is based on an image analysis and classification of infra-red based heat images. Brake images which are represented in pseudo-color are first transformed in a linear grayscale space by a hue-saturation-intensity (HSI) space. This transform is necessary for the following gradient analysis which is based on gray scale gradient filters. Furthermore, different features based on Haralick's measures are generated from the gray scale and gradient images. A following Fuzzy-Pattern-Classifier is used for the classification of good and bad brakes. It has to be pointed out that the classifier returns a score value for each brake which is between 0 and 100% good quality. This fact guarantees that not only good and bad bakes can be distinguished, but also their quality can be labeled. The results show that all critical thermal patterns of train brakes can be sensed and verified.}},

The approach is based on the continuous inspection of a keyboard surface by the authenticity verification of coded covert surface features. abstract = {{Anaplerotic TH (glycerol triheptanoate) is used for the chronic oral treatment of long-chain fatty acid oxidation disorders (FOD). To test whether TH could also be used for the acute intravenous treatment of decompensated FOD patients, we investigated the metabolism and metabolic effects of triheptanoin emulsion administered parenterally or enterally. Rats were infused with TH emulsion (intravenously or intragastrically). Stable isotope tracers were infused intravenously to measure the rates of appearance (Ra) of plasma glucose, glycerol and fatty acids. Surprisingly, intravenous infusion of triheptanoin markedly increased glycerol Ra but not oleate Ra. This indicated that massive lipolysis induced by intravenous TH was not accompanied by the release of long-chain fatty acids from adipocytes. This probably results from the contribution of anaplerotic propionyl-CoA moiety of heptanoate to glyceroneogenesis in adipocytes, generating sufficient amounts of glycerol-3-phosphate to re-esterify the fatty acids derived from stimulated lipolysis. The intraduodenal infusion of TH did not induce lipolysis because TH was hydrolyzed in the gut. Our data support the use of intravenous TH emulsion for the acute treatment of FOD patients (for whom the release of fatty acids from adipocytes would be harmful). Supported by NIH.}},

Typical contactless inductive energy supplies in industrial applications involve a combination of one primary inverter/coil and one secondary coil with a rectifier and a load. The work presented in this paper issues a one-to-many-approach instead, which can be used for creating a contactless automation network, having multiple secondary side loads driven by only one primary coil. The challenge is to run such a system in resonance, as every participant potentially affects the resonant frequency, and therefore the overall system efficiency. The effects of multiple participants on the resonant frequency are modeled, and the theoretical examinations are backed up by measurements run on a rail-based test system.}},

abstract = {{This paper provides an introduction into the evolution of information and communication technology and illustrates its usage in the work domain. The paper is sub-divided into two parts. The first part gives an overview over the different phases of information processing in the work domain. It starts by charting the past and present usage of computers in work environments and shows current technological trends, which are likely to influence future business applications. The second part starts by briefly describing, how the usage of computers changed business processes in the past, and presents first Ambient Intelligence applications based on identification and localization information, which are already used in the production and retail sector. Based on current systems and prototype applications, the paper gives an outlook of how Ambient Intelligence technologies could change business processes in the future.}},

but there is still a gap between academic research, real -world problems, operations research and simulation. Genetic Algorithms (GA) represent a technique that has already been applied to a variety of combinatorial problems.
Simulation can be used to find a solution to problems through repetitive simulation runs or to prove a solution
computed by an optimization algorithm. We will explain the application of two special GAs for job -shop and resource-
constrained project scheduling problems trying to bridge the gap between problem solving by algorithm
and by simulation. Possible goals for scheduling problems are to minimize the makespan of a production program or to increase the due -date reliability of jobs or possibly any goal which can be described in a mathematical expression. Beispielsweise haben Mintzberg und Schreyögg die Tätigkeit von Managern untersucht. Für den vorliegenden Untersuchungsgegenstand – die Planung komplexer Fabrikplanungsprojekte – fehlen empirische Daten vollständig. Die im Rahmen des Forschungsvorhabens angestrebte Analyse der Belastung von Arbeitspersonen in internationalen Fabrikplanungsprojekten erforderte daher die Konzeption, sowie Planung und Durchführung einer empirischen Studie. Zu diesem Zweck wurden zunächst Interviews mit zwölf Personen aus dem Bereich der Geschäftsführung, sowie der Abteilungs-und Projektleiter durchgeführt. Die einzelnen Befragungen, die jeweils ca. 60-90 Minuten dauerten, wurden mit Hilfe eines Leitfadens geführt, der überwiegend offene Fragen enthielt. Die Befragungsergebnisse wurden mit den Befragten im Rahmen eines Survey-Feedback Workshops diskutiert und überprüft.}},

abstract = {{Der Beitrag gibt zunächst einen Überblick über Aufgaben und Organisation der Fabrikplanung als industrieller Dienstleistung. Vor dem Hintergrund der aktuellen Marktsituation werden Anforderungen an die Erbringer der Fabrikplanungsdienstleitung abgeleitet. Darauf aufbauend wird eine Methode vorgestellt, die es ermöglicht, Arbeitsausführungszeiten in Projekten zu prognostizieren. Die Prognose kann differenziert nach unterschiedlichen Personengruppen und Projektphasen erfolgen und basiert auf einer regressionsanalytischen Analyse von Daten aus bereits abgeschlossenen Projekten. Die Methode wurde in der internationalen Fabrikplanungsbranche erprobt, ist jedoch nicht branchenspezifisch. Ein weiterer Bestandteil ist ein mehrstufiges Vorgehensmodell zur Bildung von Fachplanungsteams in der internationalen Fabrikplanungsbranche. Das Vorgehensmodell berücksichtigt projektspezifische Anforderungen an die fachlichen Expertise von Projektleitern und Teammitgliedern. Darüber hinaus werden weitere Kompetenzen sowie die Einflüsse der Internationalisierung auf die Teams berücksichtigt. Schließlich wird eine Analyse der Tätigkeit von Projektleitern in internationalen Fabrikplanungsprojekten vorgestellt. Die Analyse gibt detailliert Aufschluss über die Art, Dauer und Verteilung der Aktivitäten von Projektleitern. Die Ergebnisse sind statistisch ausgewertet und in ihrem jeweiligen spezifischen Zusammenhang interpretiert. Auf den Ergebnissen der Tätigkeitsanalyse aufbauend werden Personalentwicklungskonzepte erstellt. Ziel dieser Konzepte ist eine mitarbeiterorientierte Arbeitsgestaltung, die einerseits eine hohe Dienstleistungsqualität und Arbeitseffizienz sicherstellt und andererseits eine Verbesserung der individuellen Belastungssituation der Projektleiter erreicht.}},

abstract = {{Contaminated food is a significant vehicle for human norovirus transmission. The present study determined the effect of physicochemical treatments on the tenacity of infective human norovirus genogroup II in selected foods. Artificially contaminated produce was subjected to a number of processes used by the food industry for preservation and by the consumer for storage and preparation. Virus recovery was carried out by using ultrafiltration and was monitored by using bacteriophage MS2 as an internal process control. Norovirus was quantified by using monoplex one-step TaqMan real-time reverse transcription (RT)-PCR and an external standard curve based on recombinant RNA standards. An RNase pretreatment step was used to avoid false-positive PCR results caused by accessible RNA, which allowed detection of intact virus particles. Significant reductions in titers were obtained with heat treatments usually applied by consumers for food preparation (baking, cooking, roasting). Generally, processes used for preservation and storage, such as cooling, freezing, acidification (≥pH 4.5), and moderate heat treatments (pasteurization), appear to be insufficient to inactivate norovirus within a food matrix or on the surface of food. Besides data for persistence in processed food, comparable data for individual matrix-specific protective effects, recovery rates, and inhibitory effects on the PCRs were obtained in this study. The established procedure might be used for other noncultivable enteric RNA viruses that are connected to food-borne diseases. The data obtained in this study may also help optimize the process for inactivation of norovirus in food by adjusting food processing technologies and may promote the development of risk assessment systems in order to improve consumer protection.}},
