text: Due to the superior job performing abilities and increasing computational
capabilities, collaborating with artificial-intelligence-based services (AIBS
or AI-based services) will be inevitable for employees in the service context.
AI-based services in the form of virtual (e.g., chatbot) or physical (e.g., service
robot) embodiments, which are characterized by a higher degree of autonomy and
are intended to augment the tasks of human employees in a highly collaborative
way, will increasingly become an integral part of employee’s work environment.
Semi-structured interviews and a focus group discussion have been used to identify
constructs driving employees’ perception of AI-based services and their impact
on wellbeing. Combined with a thorough literature analysis, relations between
the identified constructs have been derived from introducing a conceptual model
of employees’ willingness to collaborate (WTC). This study identifies technology
characteristics, job demands, resources, and control as constructs, directly influencing
employees’ perceived risk of AI-based services.

text: Vaseline, also referred to as petrolatum, is a colloidal dispersion of liquid-crystalline
structures of hydrocarbons derived from petroleum. It has long been recognized
for its versatile applications in the pharmaceutical industry, with its use in
the formulation of various topical medications, wound care products, and drug
delivery systems. For pharmaceutical use, petrolatum has to meet the quality standards
described in its Pharmacopoeia monograph. The comprised test ranges allow for
a broad range of Vaseline qualities on the market, while the tests themselves
only poorly discriminate between grades. The only differentiating properties are
related to the melting behavior, which is tested via drop point analysis, and
the consistency, addressed in the functionality-related characteristics section.
In this study, we propose the hypothesis that Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS)
could be a comparably simple method to evaluate the crystalline behavior of Vaseline
qualities. We expect such information to provide additional details for Vaseline
quality discrimination. This discrimination would allow the most suitable petroleum
jelly to be selected for an existing formulation when the previous one needs to
be replaced; for example, due to a manufacturer change. We demonstrate that NIRS
in transmission and reflectance mode obtained by traditional continuous spectra
acquisition and fragmented NIR spectra acquisition through multi-optical, multi-modal
excitation, respectively, can both serve as a basis for detecting Vaseline quality
differences, which we have further proven by thermal analysis and tests with semisolid
formulations. Additionally, we demonstrate that a lower-cost multi-optical spectrometer
in reflectance mode can detect Vaseline quality differences in rotated samples.

text: Strategies based on an optimal balance between standardization and individualization
must be implemented to successfully overcome the current low level of automation
in building construction. Project-specific adaptability can be ensured by a combination
of automated machine technology and digital planning tools available today. In
addition to achieving economic advantages, the focus is on improving sustainability
factors, which concern both material consumption and functionality and improved
use of resources and energy for building production and operation. The results
of research into “lightweight aerogel concrete technology” has shown that an innovative
liquid material mixture with insulating properties can be successfully implemented
in an automated production process. An adaptive system for standardized wall,
ceiling, and floor panels was developed, which can adapt to specific functionality
needs and thus address the requirements of individual building tasks while keeping
economic as well as architectural factors in mind. The advanced mono-material
complies with current European regulations for insulated wall structures, considering
the requirements for load-bearing capacity. Due to its homogeneous insulation
effect across the entire element section, the aero lightweight concrete allows
for intelligent detailing and connection principles and prevents the formation
of thermal bridges. The relationship between material composition, material production,
construction method, and building operation is essential for a circular planning
process. Robotization as a multiple fabrication technology may facilitate these
parameters in one cycle. The new technology allows for the crucial transition
from research to an end-to-end construction workflow that maps the entire process
chain, from concept planning to design and joining principles up to fabrication
    and assembly.
