Many firms are already piloting such LLM-based information systems, but report a high degree of complexity in planning and implementation. A generally accepted regulatory framework that consistently maps key decisions is not yet available to companies. This article therefore presents a multi-level system that organizes design decisions throughout the configuration process. This framework is intended to support users in the planning, realizing, evaluation, and further development of an LLM-based information system. To achieve this goal, a qualitative-empirical research design was chosen. First, publications from the period 2022 to 2025 were identified and selected using a systematic literature search in accordance with the PRISMA guideline. The selected publications were then evaluated using a qualitative content analysis. The result is a system that was reviewed, revised and finalized at an expert workshop.}},

abstract = {{In manufacturing systems with a job shop organization, queues between workstations create an intermittent process flow, allowing workers to schedule tasks entering the queue based on their needs and preferences. The resulting scheduling autonomy of individual workers often leads to inefficiencies in the overall production process due to the loss of control. Companies are therefore increasingly using algorithmic scheduling systems to assign task sequences to workers, thereby drastically reducing their autonomy and negatively affecting their job performance and well-being. This paper extends the existing flexible job shop scheduling problem by sequencing preferences (FJSPSP) to incorporate a human-centered perspective by predicting workers’ task sequencing decisions using learning-to-rank (LTR) methods. By learning workers’ individual task sequencing preferences, it becomes possible to predict the processing sequence based on task characteristics. The scheduling algorithm for the FJSPSP presented in the paper incorporates workers’ learned sequencing preferences as constraints. Considering workers’ learned task sequencing decisions, the FJSPSP optimizes only task assignments to maintain workers’ autonomy over task sequences. The contributions of this paper are fourfold, namely, (1) presenting an approach to elicit sequencing decision datasets from workers, (2) demonstrating the successful prediction of humans’ and an actual worker’s task sequencing decisions with LTR, (3) formulating the FJSPSP variant that integrates workers’ sequencing preferences as constraints and proving its effectiveness in a simulation study, and (4) consolidating these steps into an explainable artificial intelligence (XAI)- and LTR-enabled sociotechnical system design framework. The paper closes with a discussion of the overall methodology and future research perspectives.}},

abstract = {{The article “Baubegleitforschung: Pilotprojekt für kreislaufgerechtes Bauen” examines how circular construction principles can be transferred from academic discourse into real building practice through the Smart Recycling Factory (SRF) in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Germany. Funded by the European Union and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the project functions as a full-scale pilot and research infrastructure in which planning, construction, and scientific evaluation are conducted simultaneously.

The contribution highlights the role of accompanying construction research as a methodological bridge between theory and implementation. In close collaboration between the Technical University of Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, the waste management company EMiL, and the architectural office kleyer.koblitz.letzel.freivogel, the SRF becomes a real-world laboratory for testing circular materials, reversible construction methods, and digital documentation tools such as the building resource passport. Comparative analyses of assessment systems—including Urban Mining Index, Madaster, and Concular’s Circular Platform—demonstrate how different evaluation logics influence design decisions and reveal measurable circular effects.

The article argues that the greatest circular impact lies not in isolated technical details but in early structural and typological decisions, systematic documentation, and regulatory adaptation. By embedding research directly into the construction process, the Smart Recycling Factory illustrates how interdisciplinary cooperation, educational integration, and policy awareness can transform circular building from a theoretical ideal into an applicable architectural practice.}},

abstract = {{This bachelor’s thesis examines the concept of “urban anthems” as identity-forming elements within contemporary urban culture. While national anthems are traditionally institutionalized and state-legitimized, urban anthems often emerge from popular culture and civil society. The study explores how such musical works contribute to collective identification and local belonging.

The theoretical framework traces the historical development of the anthem from ancient hymns of praise to modern national representations, followed by an analytical examination of selected city and club anthems. Particular attention is given to musical structure, lyrical content, and social function, highlighting characteristics such as accessibility, repetitive structures, and communal singability.

Based on these findings, the practical component of the thesis consists of the composition and production of an original urban anthem entitled “A Song for Bielefeld.” The project aims to implement the identified structural and thematic features while reflecting values of community, tolerance, and diversity.

The thesis demonstrates that urban anthems function as hybrid forms between popular music and social symbolism. They serve not only as aesthetic expressions but also as media of collective identity construction and social cohesion within contemporary urban environments.}},

abstract = {{In the context of data-driven bioprocess modeling, selecting appropriate regression models remains a critical challenge. This is especially the case when dealing with time-dependent process dynamics and complex measurement data. The practical relevance of this study lies in its critical assessment of the application constraints associated with multivariate linear regression models in bioprocess monitoring of cell culture processes. The applicability of Partial Least Squares and Ridge regression was evaluated for different cultivation phases. The results emphasize that no single linear modeling approach is universally suitable for capturing the complex behavior of mammalian cell cultures. This is why we present an enhanced segmented modeling approach by learning the optimal transition point from data and introducing a gradual model switch, allowing for smoother and more robust adaptation to process dynamics. This segmented model led to improved predictive performance compared to single-model regression across the entire process duration. Nevertheless, the heterogeneity of the 11 mammalian cell culture datasets used in this study posed significant challenges, with the best-performing models achieving prediction error of around 0.31 of the average offline viable cell density. These results underline the potential of phase-adaptive modeling, while also emphasizing the need for further optimization to robustly handle diverse bioprocess conditions.}},

abstract = {{Additive manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D-printing, provides a cost-effective approach for manufacturing of prototypes. The authors illustrate material analysis of suitable 3D-printable materials that can be used to manufacture THz components and investigate and provide solutions to challenges occurring during the 3D printing process. Samples in this study are 3D-printed using fused filament fabrication (FFF) based 3D-printers Ultimaker S5 and Bambu Lab X1E.
We investigate a total of six materials: High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Cyclic Olefin Copolymer (TOPAS), Polypropylene (PP), Polycarbonate (PC) and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE/ Teflon). We observed that the Teflon material contains PC as material dopant to reduce the melting temperature. The authors observed warping of the 3D-structure due to the poor adhesion of material on the print-bed. An adhesive fluid or adhesive sheet applied on the print-bed before 3D-printing provides proper adhesion. Air gaps formed between the adjacent layers during the 3D-printing results into incorrect evaluations. The 3D-printing setting of material flow ratio above 100% ensures the filling of air gaps created due to layer-by-layer manufacturing. Moreover, the direction of nozzle movement also helps in achieving uniformity in 3D-printed sample. A minimal layer height of 100 µm for the 3D-printing of all the materials provides promising adhesion and better finish. Some materials e.g., PP, PC, TOPAS capture humidity, therefore the authors used specialized chambers to maintain low humidity during the whole 3D-printing process. Fan speed, low surrounding temperature contribute in blocking of the nozzles or premature cooling of the samples; therefore, it is necessary to maintain the temperature during 3D-printing.
We investigated these samples using THz-TDS setup to find the most suitable material for AM of THz-components. The results reveal that the absorption coefficient of TOPAS is the least (α < 0.5 per cm at 0.4 THz) among all the investigated materials. Therefore, with the help of material analysis of 3D-printable materials for manufacturing of THz-components, the authors introduce fundamental research results for the future developments in the field of 3D-printing of THz components.

This article discusses the additive manufacturing and post-processing of axicons and their performance evaluation using attenuation and near-field-measurements based fundamental techniques. The axicons are manufactured using the materials cyclic olefin copolymer (TOPAS) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), for their respective use in terahertz and near-infrared applications. The optical and terahertz components manufactured using traditional 3D-printing processes, e.g., fused filament fabrication or stereolithography apparatus exhibit high surface roughness in the range of 15 ± 2.5 µm, resulting in undesired propagation and scattering in the near infrared wavelengths. This research work proposes an economical post-processing technique for additively manufactured terahertz and near-infrared axicons for applications in multispectral characterization, e.g., bio-sensing. The authors used an enhanced method of dip-coating, which involves interval dipping and intermittent hardening to achieve better surface finish. An emphasis is placed on interval dipping and intermittent hardening, which lead to excellent transparency in case of additively-manufactured near-infrared axicons. The dip-coated samples exhibit surface roughness below 10 nm. With the use of heated resin material as the coating layer, due to reduced viscosity, the resin material distributes uniformly over the surface of the 3D-printed terahertz and near-infrared axicons. The authors also observed that the DOF length deviation between unprocessed and enhanced dip-coated axicons remains within the measurement error estimation from analytical calculations. In addition to the improved surface finish and transparency, the coatings are also closely matched in refractive index to the axicon material. Such post-processed axicons pave the way for producing a wide array of systems in the fields of communication, imaging, and bio-sensing.}},

abstract = {{As production of food from animal origin is always associated with microbiological contamination, there is a possible risk for consumers to be exposed to pathogenic microorganisms. It is therefore crucial to control microbiological contamination at all process steps with appropriate measures to detect contamination as soon as possible. To evaluate the effectiveness of reduction measures integrated into the slaughtering process, a baseline of contamination needs to be defined. Therefore, this review aimed to address sampling techniques and units used to describe levels of contamination on pig carcasses in routine slaughter by means of a narrative survey. Although Salmonella, Yersinia and Campylobacter are amongst the most relevant foodborne pathogens in pork production, we focussed on indicators of process hygiene such as Total Viable Count, Enterobacteriaceae, Coliforms and Escherichia coli. To compare the selected studies and trials, stratification by sampled matrix, sampling method, process step and unit was necessary. This investigation showed a wide variety of sampling techniques within those factors, which hinders the comparability of results across different studies. Furthermore, the reporting of standard statistical metrics was often inadequate, emphasising the need to harmonise sampling techniques and methodological reporting for both scientific and practical perspectives. Therefore, this review assessed the sampling methods used at each process step and for each sampled matrix individually and identified the missing statistical metrics. Establishing this foundation is essential for selecting the most relevant matrices and methods and for developing a guide to improve data quality and comparability across future studies.}},

This randomized waitlist-controlled study tested the efficacy of the iSMEsH online anti-stigma intervention targeting German general practitioners (GPs) and medical students. The program aimed to reduce stigmatizing attitudes toward men with EDs and improve knowledge and self-efficacy in managing ED symptoms.Method A total of 292 participants (130 GPs, 162 medical students) were randomly assigned to immediate intervention or waitlist control. The intervention consisted of six video-based, on-demand modules co-developed with men who have lived experience of an ED, combining education and contact-based strategies. Outcomes included cognitive stigma (knowledge), affective stigma (biased attitudes), and behavioral stigma (treatment self-efficacy), assessed at three timepoints. Results The iSMEsH anti-stigma intervention significantly increased knowledge of male-specific ED presentations and enhanced treatment self-efficacy in both GP and medical student populations. Effects on affective stigma were less consistent.Discussion Findings support the efficacy of the iSMEsH anti-stigma intervention in improving knowledge and treatment self-efficacy regarding EDs in men among healthcare professionals. Effects on affective stigma were limited and may require longer follow-up periods to be comprehensively captured. abstract = {{Objective Despite significant health and psychosocial impairments, many individuals with eating disorders (ED) view their disorder as an integral part of their identity. Because this "ego-syntonicity" is associated with low treatment motivation and treatment dropouts, we investigated the acceptability, feasibility, and effects of a newly developed externalization exercise in virtual reality (VR) for EDs.
Method N = 51 inpatients with EDs (42 women, 8 men, 1 not reported; mean age = 31.9 years) imagined that an object simulated in VR (a sphere) represented their ED. They then modified the object using controller-assisted actions (controlling distance, size, color, and cutting it up). The perceived valence, activation, and difficulty of each action as well as user experiences were recorded. Effect parameters (self-ED overlap as a measure of relative externalization, general self-efficacy) were recorded before and after the exercise.
Results Patients rated their experience predominantly positive. Self-ED overlap decreased (Cohen's d = 0.46, 95% CI [0.22, 0.69]) and self-efficacy increased from before to after participation (Cohen's d = -0.22, 95% CI [-0.43, -0.01]). The effects were comparable between anorexia nervosa and other diagnostic groups.
Conclusion The results indicate the feasibility and potential efficacy of the newly developed VR procedure for externalizing EDs and provide a basis for planning controlled studies.}},

abstract = {{Background: Restoring weight is a primary goal during anorexia nervosa (AN) treatment. Previous studies linked different weight gain profiles to treatment outcomes, but there is currently no consensus on profile shapes and numbers. We argue that heterogeneity stems from temporal distortions ("warping") in weight gain, and that similar weight improvements can stretch over different time periods. We thus favor a novel non-parametric solution that accounts for warping to identify weight trajectories. Method: Time series clustering with dynamic time warping (DTW) was used to identify weight change trajectories among N = 518 patients with AN during inpatient treatment. Within-person body-mass-index gain (triangle BMI) served as our primary dependent variable to identify clusters. We characterized clusters based on admission psychopathology scores, and analyzed associations of cluster affiliation with changes in clinical outcomes between admission and discharge using linear and logistic models. Results: We identified four distinct clusters, with n = 76 patients showing initial weight gain (Cluster 1), n = 329 showing continuous weight gain (Cluster 2), n = 70 showing initial weight loss and recovery (Cluster 3), and n = 43 showing weight loss (Cluster 4). The four clusters differed in terms of admission BMI, psychopathology scores, and days spent in treatment, and cluster assignment predicted treatment outcomes. Conclusion: Using one of the largest hitherto examined samples for weight gain profile analysis, the novel DTW-based approach provided an overall more elaborated set of outcome-predictive profiles compared to previous studies, which could help inform individualized treatment strategies and allocate therapeutic resources efficiently.}},

abstract = {{Plant-based meat alternatives continue to gain market relevance due to sustainability, ethical, and health considerations. However, replicating the texture, cohesion, and sensory attributes of animal-derived meat remains a major technological challenge. Microbial transglutaminase (mTGase), an enzyme that catalyzes covalent cross-linking between glutamine and lysine residues in proteins, has emerged as a promising structuring tool for improving protein network formation in plant-based systems. Produced via microbial fermentation, mTGase is calcium-independent and active across a broad range of food-processing conditions. This review summarizes the mechanism of action of mTGase, its reactivity toward major plant protein sources, and its functional role in comminuted, emulsified, and structured plant-based meat products. Particular emphasis is placed on the integration of mTGase with physical structuring technologies such as extrusion and shear-cell processing. Overall, mTGase represents a versatile enzymatic strategy for enhancing texture and cohesion while reducing reliance on synthetic binders in clean-label plant-based meat alternatives.}},

abstract = {{The aging of biodiesel proceeds via multiple pathways, with oligomerization playing a central role. In this study, we investigated an epoxide-dependent oligomerization pathway, which had previously only been postulated. Using methyl oleate (C18:1) as a model monounsaturated fatty acid and acetic acid as a representative, reactive nucleophile and known biodiesel aging product with a suitable boiling point, oligomeric products were identified by size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) coupled with electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ESI-QTOF-MS). The concentration of 20 wt% was chosen to ensure a measurable kinetic effect while maintaining stable reaction conditions. Furthermore, the role of methyl oleate during biodiesel aging was addressed. Time-resolved analysis confirmed the proposed sequential order of reactions. It was pointed out that elimination reactions may occur. The data support the formation of epoxides, despite the isobaric overlap with ketones, and show that hydroxyl intermediates undergo esterification and etherification. Moreover, experiments with pure C18:1 demonstrated that acetic acid–derived oligomers are generated. Under Rancimat conditions, addition of 20 wt% acetic acid resulted in an approximately 1.1 – 2.6 increase in product yield. Kinetic analysis revealed structure-dependent formation and decay behavior of the aging products, with slightly faster epoxidation and shifted product distributions toward higher oligomeric species in the presence of acetic acid. Reactive intermediates were consumed more rapidly than oligomeric species and all decay processes followed apparent second-order kinetics. These findings provide direct experimental evidence for the involvement of epoxide-dependent pathways in biodiesel aging.}},

abstract = {{The previous methodology for optimizing CO2 emissions and electricity costs in industrial applications is extended by integrating dynamic load shifting with battery energy storage. Building on earlier work that employed Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) to manage a stationary battery based on real-time electricity prices and CO2 intensity signals, two industrial machines and one electric vehicle (EV) are now incorporated as additional shiftable loads. These new elements introduce further operational constraints while enhancing energy management flexibility. The framework employs an adjustable weighting factor λ to balance environmental impact and cost, and comparative analyses across three scenarios—battery-only, load-shifting-only, and combined—demonstrate nearly additive CO2 reductions alongside non-additive cost improvements, underscoring the synergistic potential for environmental benefits despite diminishing cost returns. Moreover, validation against dynamic programming confirms the MILP approach’s accuracy and computational efficiency.}},

The construction of such accommodation must meet the require-ments of various areas, including minimum standards of humanitarian organ-ization, structural requirements and manufacturing restrictions. The shelter solution presented here, which results from these requirements, is intended to be a sustainable alternative to existing emergency accommodation, especially tents. In order to actually replace tents in some scenarios, the accommoda-tion must be able to be manufactured industrially in large series. Various concept studies were carried out for this purpose. The principle was: “form follows function & follows production”}},

abstract = {{Mostly in the furniture industry the quality approach is anecdotical. A sys-tematic convergence of specifications for claims of functions and design is missing. A system has now been drafted or agreed in accordance with the aforementioned German standards, which follows the Geometrical Product Specification (GPS, ISO 8015) system and offers new possibilities for coding on technical drawings, as well as in the downstream chain of standards for measuring, testing and process capability analysis. DIN 919-2 as a new drafted German standard for technical drawing in wood industry is opening up the whole tool set of GPS coding elements. DIN 68100 is adding a geomet-rical tolerance system including swelling or shrinkage. DIN68100-2 will pro-pose statistical tolerancing to convolute variances in geometry caused e.g. by production with distributions in moisture con- tent or shrinkage coefficients. VDI 3414 is offering specifications and corresponding verifications for at-tributive quality characteristics of wooden surfaces including a naming and coding system. Finally VDI 3415-2 is referring to measuring and production capability analysis esp. for the wood industry and related research. As far as possible the German standardization activities will be presented in the paper. The selected use case will be the edge banding and profile wrapping where the new guideline VDI 3412 will assist the practitioners and scientists concern-ing specification, verification but as well in trouble shooting.}},

abstract = {{Urban Nature-based Solutions (NBS) are hypothesized to play an important role in promoting health, but most of the evidence is cross-sectional. This study aims to examine the effects of an integrated urban intervention with NBS at its core, implemented in the Nantes Nord district on residents' physical activity, social activity, environmental quality of life and social network as well as self-rated health and mental health. Analysing 902 observations from 2 datasets, pre- and post-intervention, we categorized 802 participants within Nantes Nord as the treatment group and 100 from other districts as the control group. We used Propensity Score Matching to adjust for selection bias in the dataset and Difference-in-Differences analysis to evaluate changes in physical activity, socializing activities, social networks, environmental quality of life, as well as self-rated health and mental health outcomes. Our results indicate that the urban tranformation with NBS at its core was associated with a significant increase in physical activity levels and to some extent in social ties. However, no immediate improvements were noticeable in socializing activities, environmental quality of life, or health outcomes, suggesting a latency in the broader effects of such interventions. This study underscores the immediate effects of the integrated NBS intervention on physical activity as a precursor to potentially more significant health benefits, which should be followed up with a more mid-to-long-term evaluation of such NBS interventions. Our findings advocate for the integration of connected green space corridors in urban planning to facilitate active lifestyles as sustainable commitments by local authorities and stakeholders.}},

This chapter discusses how Process Analytical Technology (PAT), aligned with the Quality-by-Design (QbD) framework, enables measurement-driven process understanding and timely control by linking the trajectories of critical process parameters (CPPs) to critical quality attributes (CQAs). We review fit-for-purpose at-line, on-line, and in-line analytical technologies used in mammalian cell culture and summarize their roles across the process development and manufacturing lifecycle. Applications include multivariate process characterization, state-based monitoring and control, and trajectory-based process supervision. Finally, we outline future directions toward IIoT-enabled connectivity, soft sensors, and integrated multi-sensor PAT platforms, which are expected to support adaptive control strategies, digital twins, and ultimately autonomous biomanufacturing.}},
