Many firms are already piloting such LLM-based information systems, but report a high degree of complexity in planning and implementation. A generally accepted regulatory framework that consistently maps key decisions is not yet available to companies. This article therefore presents a multi-level system that organizes design decisions throughout the configuration process. This framework is intended to support users in the planning, realizing, evaluation, and further development of an LLM-based information system. To achieve this goal, a qualitative-empirical research design was chosen. First, publications from the period 2022 to 2025 were identified and selected using a systematic literature search in accordance with the PRISMA guideline. The selected publications were then evaluated using a qualitative content analysis. The result is a system that was reviewed, revised and finalized at an expert workshop.}},

abstract = {{In manufacturing systems with a job shop organization, queues between workstations create an intermittent process flow, allowing workers to schedule tasks entering the queue based on their needs and preferences. The resulting scheduling autonomy of individual workers often leads to inefficiencies in the overall production process due to the loss of control. Companies are therefore increasingly using algorithmic scheduling systems to assign task sequences to workers, thereby drastically reducing their autonomy and negatively affecting their job performance and well-being. This paper extends the existing flexible job shop scheduling problem by sequencing preferences (FJSPSP) to incorporate a human-centered perspective by predicting workers’ task sequencing decisions using learning-to-rank (LTR) methods. By learning workers’ individual task sequencing preferences, it becomes possible to predict the processing sequence based on task characteristics. The scheduling algorithm for the FJSPSP presented in the paper incorporates workers’ learned sequencing preferences as constraints. Considering workers’ learned task sequencing decisions, the FJSPSP optimizes only task assignments to maintain workers’ autonomy over task sequences. The contributions of this paper are fourfold, namely, (1) presenting an approach to elicit sequencing decision datasets from workers, (2) demonstrating the successful prediction of humans’ and an actual worker’s task sequencing decisions with LTR, (3) formulating the FJSPSP variant that integrates workers’ sequencing preferences as constraints and proving its effectiveness in a simulation study, and (4) consolidating these steps into an explainable artificial intelligence (XAI)- and LTR-enabled sociotechnical system design framework. The paper closes with a discussion of the overall methodology and future research perspectives.}},

abstract = {{The article “Baubegleitforschung: Pilotprojekt für kreislaufgerechtes Bauen” examines how circular construction principles can be transferred from academic discourse into real building practice through the Smart Recycling Factory (SRF) in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Germany. Funded by the European Union and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the project functions as a full-scale pilot and research infrastructure in which planning, construction, and scientific evaluation are conducted simultaneously.

The contribution highlights the role of accompanying construction research as a methodological bridge between theory and implementation. In close collaboration between the Technical University of Ostwestfalen-Lippe, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, the waste management company EMiL, and the architectural office kleyer.koblitz.letzel.freivogel, the SRF becomes a real-world laboratory for testing circular materials, reversible construction methods, and digital documentation tools such as the building resource passport. Comparative analyses of assessment systems—including Urban Mining Index, Madaster, and Concular’s Circular Platform—demonstrate how different evaluation logics influence design decisions and reveal measurable circular effects.

The article argues that the greatest circular impact lies not in isolated technical details but in early structural and typological decisions, systematic documentation, and regulatory adaptation. By embedding research directly into the construction process, the Smart Recycling Factory illustrates how interdisciplinary cooperation, educational integration, and policy awareness can transform circular building from a theoretical ideal into an applicable architectural practice.}},

abstract = {{This bachelor’s thesis examines the concept of “urban anthems” as identity-forming elements within contemporary urban culture. While national anthems are traditionally institutionalized and state-legitimized, urban anthems often emerge from popular culture and civil society. The study explores how such musical works contribute to collective identification and local belonging.

The theoretical framework traces the historical development of the anthem from ancient hymns of praise to modern national representations, followed by an analytical examination of selected city and club anthems. Particular attention is given to musical structure, lyrical content, and social function, highlighting characteristics such as accessibility, repetitive structures, and communal singability.

Based on these findings, the practical component of the thesis consists of the composition and production of an original urban anthem entitled “A Song for Bielefeld.” The project aims to implement the identified structural and thematic features while reflecting values of community, tolerance, and diversity.

The thesis demonstrates that urban anthems function as hybrid forms between popular music and social symbolism. They serve not only as aesthetic expressions but also as media of collective identity construction and social cohesion within contemporary urban environments.}},

abstract = {{In the context of data-driven bioprocess modeling, selecting appropriate regression models remains a critical challenge. This is especially the case when dealing with time-dependent process dynamics and complex measurement data. The practical relevance of this study lies in its critical assessment of the application constraints associated with multivariate linear regression models in bioprocess monitoring of cell culture processes. The applicability of Partial Least Squares and Ridge regression was evaluated for different cultivation phases. The results emphasize that no single linear modeling approach is universally suitable for capturing the complex behavior of mammalian cell cultures. This is why we present an enhanced segmented modeling approach by learning the optimal transition point from data and introducing a gradual model switch, allowing for smoother and more robust adaptation to process dynamics. This segmented model led to improved predictive performance compared to single-model regression across the entire process duration. Nevertheless, the heterogeneity of the 11 mammalian cell culture datasets used in this study posed significant challenges, with the best-performing models achieving prediction error of around 0.31 of the average offline viable cell density. These results underline the potential of phase-adaptive modeling, while also emphasizing the need for further optimization to robustly handle diverse bioprocess conditions.}},

abstract = {{Additive manufacturing (AM), commonly known as 3D-printing, provides a cost-effective approach for manufacturing of prototypes. The authors illustrate material analysis of suitable 3D-printable materials that can be used to manufacture THz components and investigate and provide solutions to challenges occurring during the 3D printing process. Samples in this study are 3D-printed using fused filament fabrication (FFF) based 3D-printers Ultimaker S5 and Bambu Lab X1E.
We investigate a total of six materials: High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Cyclic Olefin Copolymer (TOPAS), Polypropylene (PP), Polycarbonate (PC) and Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE/ Teflon). We observed that the Teflon material contains PC as material dopant to reduce the melting temperature. The authors observed warping of the 3D-structure due to the poor adhesion of material on the print-bed. An adhesive fluid or adhesive sheet applied on the print-bed before 3D-printing provides proper adhesion. Air gaps formed between the adjacent layers during the 3D-printing results into incorrect evaluations. The 3D-printing setting of material flow ratio above 100% ensures the filling of air gaps created due to layer-by-layer manufacturing. Moreover, the direction of nozzle movement also helps in achieving uniformity in 3D-printed sample. A minimal layer height of 100 µm for the 3D-printing of all the materials provides promising adhesion and better finish. Some materials e.g., PP, PC, TOPAS capture humidity, therefore the authors used specialized chambers to maintain low humidity during the whole 3D-printing process. Fan speed, low surrounding temperature contribute in blocking of the nozzles or premature cooling of the samples; therefore, it is necessary to maintain the temperature during 3D-printing.
We investigated these samples using THz-TDS setup to find the most suitable material for AM of THz-components. The results reveal that the absorption coefficient of TOPAS is the least (α < 0.5 per cm at 0.4 THz) among all the investigated materials. Therefore, with the help of material analysis of 3D-printable materials for manufacturing of THz-components, the authors introduce fundamental research results for the future developments in the field of 3D-printing of THz components.

This article discusses the additive manufacturing and post-processing of axicons and their performance evaluation using attenuation and near-field-measurements based fundamental techniques. The axicons are manufactured using the materials cyclic olefin copolymer (TOPAS) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), for their respective use in terahertz and near-infrared applications. The optical and terahertz components manufactured using traditional 3D-printing processes, e.g., fused filament fabrication or stereolithography apparatus exhibit high surface roughness in the range of 15 ± 2.5 µm, resulting in undesired propagation and scattering in the near infrared wavelengths. This research work proposes an economical post-processing technique for additively manufactured terahertz and near-infrared axicons for applications in multispectral characterization, e.g., bio-sensing. The authors used an enhanced method of dip-coating, which involves interval dipping and intermittent hardening to achieve better surface finish. An emphasis is placed on interval dipping and intermittent hardening, which lead to excellent transparency in case of additively-manufactured near-infrared axicons. The dip-coated samples exhibit surface roughness below 10 nm. With the use of heated resin material as the coating layer, due to reduced viscosity, the resin material distributes uniformly over the surface of the 3D-printed terahertz and near-infrared axicons. The authors also observed that the DOF length deviation between unprocessed and enhanced dip-coated axicons remains within the measurement error estimation from analytical calculations. In addition to the improved surface finish and transparency, the coatings are also closely matched in refractive index to the axicon material. Such post-processed axicons pave the way for producing a wide array of systems in the fields of communication, imaging, and bio-sensing.}},

abstract = {{As production of food from animal origin is always associated with microbiological contamination, there is a possible risk for consumers to be exposed to pathogenic microorganisms. It is therefore crucial to control microbiological contamination at all process steps with appropriate measures to detect contamination as soon as possible. To evaluate the effectiveness of reduction measures integrated into the slaughtering process, a baseline of contamination needs to be defined. Therefore, this review aimed to address sampling techniques and units used to describe levels of contamination on pig carcasses in routine slaughter by means of a narrative survey. Although Salmonella, Yersinia and Campylobacter are amongst the most relevant foodborne pathogens in pork production, we focussed on indicators of process hygiene such as Total Viable Count, Enterobacteriaceae, Coliforms and Escherichia coli. To compare the selected studies and trials, stratification by sampled matrix, sampling method, process step and unit was necessary. This investigation showed a wide variety of sampling techniques within those factors, which hinders the comparability of results across different studies. Furthermore, the reporting of standard statistical metrics was often inadequate, emphasising the need to harmonise sampling techniques and methodological reporting for both scientific and practical perspectives. Therefore, this review assessed the sampling methods used at each process step and for each sampled matrix individually and identified the missing statistical metrics. Establishing this foundation is essential for selecting the most relevant matrices and methods and for developing a guide to improve data quality and comparability across future studies.}},

This randomized waitlist-controlled study tested the efficacy of the iSMEsH online anti-stigma intervention targeting German general practitioners (GPs) and medical students. The program aimed to reduce stigmatizing attitudes toward men with EDs and improve knowledge and self-efficacy in managing ED symptoms.Method A total of 292 participants (130 GPs, 162 medical students) were randomly assigned to immediate intervention or waitlist control. The intervention consisted of six video-based, on-demand modules co-developed with men who have lived experience of an ED, combining education and contact-based strategies. Outcomes included cognitive stigma (knowledge), affective stigma (biased attitudes), and behavioral stigma (treatment self-efficacy), assessed at three timepoints. Results The iSMEsH anti-stigma intervention significantly increased knowledge of male-specific ED presentations and enhanced treatment self-efficacy in both GP and medical student populations. Effects on affective stigma were less consistent.Discussion Findings support the efficacy of the iSMEsH anti-stigma intervention in improving knowledge and treatment self-efficacy regarding EDs in men among healthcare professionals. Effects on affective stigma were limited and may require longer follow-up periods to be comprehensively captured. abstract = {{Objective Despite significant health and psychosocial impairments, many individuals with eating disorders (ED) view their disorder as an integral part of their identity. Because this "ego-syntonicity" is associated with low treatment motivation and treatment dropouts, we investigated the acceptability, feasibility, and effects of a newly developed externalization exercise in virtual reality (VR) for EDs.
Method N = 51 inpatients with EDs (42 women, 8 men, 1 not reported; mean age = 31.9 years) imagined that an object simulated in VR (a sphere) represented their ED. They then modified the object using controller-assisted actions (controlling distance, size, color, and cutting it up). The perceived valence, activation, and difficulty of each action as well as user experiences were recorded. Effect parameters (self-ED overlap as a measure of relative externalization, general self-efficacy) were recorded before and after the exercise.
Results Patients rated their experience predominantly positive. Self-ED overlap decreased (Cohen's d = 0.46, 95% CI [0.22, 0.69]) and self-efficacy increased from before to after participation (Cohen's d = -0.22, 95% CI [-0.43, -0.01]). The effects were comparable between anorexia nervosa and other diagnostic groups.
Conclusion The results indicate the feasibility and potential efficacy of the newly developed VR procedure for externalizing EDs and provide a basis for planning controlled studies.}},

abstract = {{Background: Restoring weight is a primary goal during anorexia nervosa (AN) treatment. Previous studies linked different weight gain profiles to treatment outcomes, but there is currently no consensus on profile shapes and numbers. We argue that heterogeneity stems from temporal distortions ("warping") in weight gain, and that similar weight improvements can stretch over different time periods. We thus favor a novel non-parametric solution that accounts for warping to identify weight trajectories. Method: Time series clustering with dynamic time warping (DTW) was used to identify weight change trajectories among N = 518 patients with AN during inpatient treatment. Within-person body-mass-index gain (triangle BMI) served as our primary dependent variable to identify clusters. We characterized clusters based on admission psychopathology scores, and analyzed associations of cluster affiliation with changes in clinical outcomes between admission and discharge using linear and logistic models. Results: We identified four distinct clusters, with n = 76 patients showing initial weight gain (Cluster 1), n = 329 showing continuous weight gain (Cluster 2), n = 70 showing initial weight loss and recovery (Cluster 3), and n = 43 showing weight loss (Cluster 4). The four clusters differed in terms of admission BMI, psychopathology scores, and days spent in treatment, and cluster assignment predicted treatment outcomes. Conclusion: Using one of the largest hitherto examined samples for weight gain profile analysis, the novel DTW-based approach provided an overall more elaborated set of outcome-predictive profiles compared to previous studies, which could help inform individualized treatment strategies and allocate therapeutic resources efficiently.}},

abstract = {{Plant-based meat alternatives continue to gain market relevance due to sustainability, ethical, and health considerations. However, replicating the texture, cohesion, and sensory attributes of animal-derived meat remains a major technological challenge. Microbial transglutaminase (mTGase), an enzyme that catalyzes covalent cross-linking between glutamine and lysine residues in proteins, has emerged as a promising structuring tool for improving protein network formation in plant-based systems. Produced via microbial fermentation, mTGase is calcium-independent and active across a broad range of food-processing conditions. This review summarizes the mechanism of action of mTGase, its reactivity toward major plant protein sources, and its functional role in comminuted, emulsified, and structured plant-based meat products. Particular emphasis is placed on the integration of mTGase with physical structuring technologies such as extrusion and shear-cell processing. Overall, mTGase represents a versatile enzymatic strategy for enhancing texture and cohesion while reducing reliance on synthetic binders in clean-label plant-based meat alternatives.}},

abstract = {{The aging of biodiesel proceeds via multiple pathways, with oligomerization playing a central role. In this study, we investigated an epoxide-dependent oligomerization pathway, which had previously only been postulated. Using methyl oleate (C18:1) as a model monounsaturated fatty acid and acetic acid as a representative, reactive nucleophile and known biodiesel aging product with a suitable boiling point, oligomeric products were identified by size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) coupled with electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ESI-QTOF-MS). The concentration of 20 wt% was chosen to ensure a measurable kinetic effect while maintaining stable reaction conditions. Furthermore, the role of methyl oleate during biodiesel aging was addressed. Time-resolved analysis confirmed the proposed sequential order of reactions. It was pointed out that elimination reactions may occur. The data support the formation of epoxides, despite the isobaric overlap with ketones, and show that hydroxyl intermediates undergo esterification and etherification. Moreover, experiments with pure C18:1 demonstrated that acetic acid–derived oligomers are generated. Under Rancimat conditions, addition of 20 wt% acetic acid resulted in an approximately 1.1 – 2.6 increase in product yield. Kinetic analysis revealed structure-dependent formation and decay behavior of the aging products, with slightly faster epoxidation and shifted product distributions toward higher oligomeric species in the presence of acetic acid. Reactive intermediates were consumed more rapidly than oligomeric species and all decay processes followed apparent second-order kinetics. These findings provide direct experimental evidence for the involvement of epoxide-dependent pathways in biodiesel aging.}},

Building on earlier work that employed Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) to manage a stationary battery based on real-time electricity prices and CO2 intensity signals, two industrial machines and one electric vehicle (EV) are now incorporated as additional shiftable loads. These new elements introduce further operational constraints while enhancing energy management flexibility. The framework employs an adjustable weighting factor λ to balance environmental impact and cost, and comparative analyses across three scenarios—battery-only, load-shifting-only, and combined—demonstrate nearly additive CO2 reductions alongside non-additive cost improvements, underscoring the synergistic potential for environmental benefits despite diminishing cost returns. Moreover, validation against dynamic programming confirms the MILP approach’s accuracy and computational efficiency.}},

abstract = {{The 15th SafePork Conference was held in Rennes, France, between 6 and 8 October 2025. One of this year’s pre-conference workshops was dedicated to the modernization of meat inspection with a special focus on the potential use of new technologies. Traditionally, meat inspection has been performed manually by veterinary inspectors, trained to identify diseases, contamination, and any defects in carcasses or viscera. Indeed, manual inspection forms the cornerstone of most food safety inspection practices. However, manual inspection is inherently subjective, influenced by factors such as operator experience, fatigue, and environmental conditions, resulting in variability in inspection performance. Moreover, manual inspection is not practical, as the slaughter line speeds in abattoirs are very fast. Computer vision systems (CVS) and other AI-based methods represent new approaches to inspection. CVS integrates the use of high-resolution image acquisition with real-time image analysis, using advanced AI algorithms, allowing automated inspection decisions. Such systems can potentially improve the quality of the meat inspection process through higher objectivity and data continuity, with enhanced scalability. In line with this, the European regulations on official control and meat inspection now permit pilot projects to explore innovative technologies to enhance and support meat inspection (1,2).}},

abstract = {{Urban Nature-based Solutions (NBS) are hypothesized to play an important role in promoting health, but most of the evidence is cross-sectional. This study aims to examine the effects of an integrated urban intervention with NBS at its core, implemented in the Nantes Nord district on residents' physical activity, social activity, environmental quality of life and social network as well as self-rated health and mental health. Analysing 902 observations from 2 datasets, pre- and post-intervention, we categorized 802 participants within Nantes Nord as the treatment group and 100 from other districts as the control group. We used Propensity Score Matching to adjust for selection bias in the dataset and Difference-in-Differences analysis to evaluate changes in physical activity, socializing activities, social networks, environmental quality of life, as well as self-rated health and mental health outcomes. Our results indicate that the urban tranformation with NBS at its core was associated with a significant increase in physical activity levels and to some extent in social ties. However, no immediate improvements were noticeable in socializing activities, environmental quality of life, or health outcomes, suggesting a latency in the broader effects of such interventions. This study underscores the immediate effects of the integrated NBS intervention on physical activity as a precursor to potentially more significant health benefits, which should be followed up with a more mid-to-long-term evaluation of such NBS interventions. Our findings advocate for the integration of connected green space corridors in urban planning to facilitate active lifestyles as sustainable commitments by local authorities and stakeholders.}},

A camera system was installed between evisceration and postmortem meat inspection on an industrial pig slaughter line with a capacity of 12,000 pigs per day. The pigs were photographed using five 2D cameras, and the images were analysed for contamination using an AI-based algorithm. The setup, which was developed and installed by CLK GmbH, performed under industrial conditions. In order to train the system, specifications were created for the most frequently occurring types of contamination, namely, intestinal contents, bile, stomach contents, and tubular rail fat. Afterward, the system was trained using annotated images. In principle, the system was able to recognize all types of contamination on the camera images; even pinhead-sized contaminations were visible. The agreement between the algorithm and the results of an expert assessor who assessed the images online agreed in 60% of the judgements. The agreement between experts using onsite assessment and those using online assessment by images was 73%. Thus, the kappa measure of agreement was κ = 0.1215 (p = 0.0199). Significantly higher recognition rates appear to be possible by adjusting the algorithm and increasing the number of training images. Thus, the system is a useful tool to preselect contaminated carcasses and to support postmortem inspection.}},

We hypothesized (a) that differences in breastfeeding practices may explain sociodemographic disparities in children’s overweight and obesity, and (b) that breastfeeding practices may also explain sociodemographic disparities in children’s diet quality. Data from N = 7180 children aged 2 to 6 years from NHANES (2005–2018) were classified based on weight status (normal weight, overweight, obesity, severe obesity), breastfeeding, and in terms of healthy eating (using the Healthy Eating Index). We used multinomial logistic and linear regressions to determine pathways between sociodemographic variables, breastfeeding, and weight status, as well as between sociodemographic and breastfeeding variables and healthy eating scores. Sociodemographic factors were significantly associated with childhood weight status, breastfeeding history, and healthy eating. Weight status increased with child male gender, Mexican American and Other Hispanic ethnicity, lower education, lower income, and single marital status; breastfeeding decreased with child age, Non-Hispanic Black ethnicity, lower education, and single marital status, but increased with Mexican American ethnicity and higher income. A mediation analysis showed indirect pathways from sociodemographic variables to weight status via breastfeeding duration. Similar patterns emerged for healthy eating. The results indicate that breastfeeding is associated with modestly lower odds of severe obesity and improved diet scores in early childhood, even after accounting for socioeconomic and demographic differences. Breastfeeding appears to be a meaningful early-life factor with a significant impact on weight and healthy dietary outcomes.}},

We define LLM-mediated XAI as a process in which a large language model aggregates, prioritizes, and translates heterogeneous XAI outputs into a context-sensitive explanation tailored to the user’s decision situation. Semantic features, XAI modules and LLM-based summarization and synthesis enable the generation of explanations that are adapted in three ways: compressed for time-efficient decisions, translated into non-technical language, and progressively expandable for deeper inspection. Through a mixed-methods user study, including a quantitative study and a qualitative study, we analyze how users interpret, challenge and strategically rely on LLM-mediated explanations during real-world misinformation assessment tasks. abstract = {{Die vorliegende Bachelorarbeit untersucht die Frage, wie Instagram als Instrument der Krisenkommunikation im Katastrophenschutz durch Behörden und Hilfsorganisationen effektiv eingesetzt werden kann.

  abstract     = {{Objective
This study examined the association between socio-demographic patterns and eating disorder (ED) risk in 298 women (mean age = 28.4 years). We focused on women, as existing research suggests that EDs disproportionately affect women. Within this sample, we took into account the intersections of different socio-demographic variables. Additionally, we assessed body dissatisfaction and subjective health status (S-HS) as self-reported measures to gain a more comprehensive understanding of ED risk.
Method
We conducted a cluster analysis (k-means) using ten demographic variables (e.g., sexual orientation, migration history, presence of disabilities), which revealed three distinct participant clusters. Then, we applied two multiple logistic regression models using cluster membership, body dissatisfaction related to fat (BD-F) and muscularity (BD-M), and S-HS as determinants, with the outcome being ED risk measured using two scales (EAT-8; EDE-Q).
Results
Cluster Three – notably characterized by queer women with a migration history and identification as part of an ethnic minority - showed a consistently higher ED risk. In contrast, Cluster One, which included a higher proportion of older individuals as well as individuals with disabilities, or caregiving responsibilities, showed the lowest risk for ED. In Cluster Two an increased risk for EDs was observed in the EAT-8, but not in the EDE-Q, suggesting measurement-specific differences. BD-F and BD-M were significantly associated with ED risk. BD-F proved to be the factor with the strongest influence.
Conclusions
We emphasize the importance of considering person-centered socio-demographic positions and different forms of body dissatisfaction to assess the risk of ED.}},

  abstract     = {{Introduction

Social determinants play a critical role in shaping mental health (MH) outcomes. The World Health Organization emphasizes the importance of addressing such factors to reduce MH disparities. This scoping review aims to assess the landscape of research on social determinants of MH in Germany, focusing on frequently studied social determinants, MH outcomes, and underlying theoretical frameworks and explanatory mechanisms, particularly the consideration of the framework of intersectionality.
Methods

Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews guidelines, a systematic literature search was conducted in PubMed and Web of Science. Studies that specifically addressed social determinants of MH in Germany were targeted, and data were charted to map key research trends.
Results

A total of 73 studies were included in the data analysis and synthesis, and outcomes were grouped into eight social determinants of health domains. The most frequently examined domains were demographics (in 96.0% of included studies), interpersonal/community/cultural influences (89.3%), economic stability (72.0%), and education (57.3%). Less frequently addressed domains included neighborhood and built environment (25.3%), environmental events (16.0%), other health-related determinants (16.0%), and healthcare access and quality (5.3%). We observed substantial heterogeneity within and between domains. MH outcomes were more often studied in terms of mental illness than positively defined MH, with depression and anxiety being the most frequently assessed outcomes. Theoretical frameworks such as the biopsychosocial model, social-ecological perspectives, and resilience theory were commonly applied, while intersectionality was rarely explicitly analyzed.
Discussion

This scoping review delineates the research landscape on social determinants of MH in Germany. The findings point towards a predominant focus on individual-level determinants, with comparatively limited attention to systemic and structural factors. Moreover, an emphasis on mental illness rather than MH, alongside substantial heterogeneity in measured constructs, may constrain the understanding of MH disparities. These gaps highlight the need for more comprehensive, intersectional approaches that account for the diversity of individuals, contexts, and outcomes.}},

Mittels A/B Tests

abstract = {{As production of food from animal origin is always associated with microbiological contamination, there is a possible risk for consumers to be exposed to pathogenic microorganisms. Establishing this foundation is essential for selecting the most relevant matrices and methods and for developing a guide to improve data quality and comparability across future studies.}},

abstract = {{Modeling 5G Radio Access Networks (RANs) at scale requires rapid (re-)configuration of 5G base stations (BSs), e.g., based on open-source software (OSS) stacks, which in general is a challenging task in scenarios with highly dynamic environments and networking demands. Existing solutions are often insufficient to provide an automated configuration functionality based on basic 5G cell parameters. Manual adjustments in such scenarios require specialized knowledge usually not present outside of traditional network providers and established research groups. They are often prone to errors, misconfigurations, and typically do not meet the need for dynamic and timely updates to the networking configuration. In this paper, we present 5GAutoConf, which, to the best of our knowledge, is the first open source automatic 5G BS configuration tool that uses basic input parameters. 5GAutoConf implements an automatic datadriven process that rapidly creates configurations for OSS 5G RAN stacks, enabling fast 5G BS adaptation for experimental purposes. Further, 5GAutoConf integrates both 5G standardcompliant and generated lookup tables (LUTs) for use caseoriented optimization. Since the derivation process of waveform parameters is the most important part of the tool, it is described in detail.}},

abstract = {{The taste of a drug formulation, especially of orodispersible and liquid dosage forms, is of crucial importance due to its direct contact with the human taste buds. In order to achieve high patient acceptance with these formulations, drugs with an unpleasant, predominantly bitter taste have to be masked. One strategy for masking taste particularly suitable for lipophilic drugs is to dissolve the drug molecules in lipid carrier systems, such as nanoemulsions. Although this strategy has often proven effective as a formulation strategy for improving bioavailability and masking an unpleasant taste, our study indicates that embedding the three poorly water-soluble model drugs fenofibrate, simvastatin, and naproxen in nanoemulsions led to newly created or increased bitterness compared to the non-formulated drug powders. We proved this using both an analytical taste sensor system, specifically an electronic tongue (e-tongue), and a sensory study with a human taste panel. Hereby, complete agreement between the e-tongue measurements and the sensory study was found despite the non-ionic character of fenofibrate and simvastatin. We hypothesize that the changed bitter taste impressions were due to the location of the drug molecules at the oil/water interfaces, which resulted in an increased bitter taste intensity and prolonged duration of the bitter taste. In summary, the study shows that incorporating drugs into lipid nanocarriers tended to worsen the taste rather than mask it.}},

Control-as-Inference approaches thereof model the constrained optimization problem as a probabilistic inference problem. The constraints have to be implemented into the inference model. A recently introduced physics-informed Gaussian Process method uses Control-as-Inference with a Gaussian likelihood for state constraint modeling, but lacks guarantees of open-loop constraint satisfaction. We mitigate the lack of guarantees via an additional sampling step using Hamiltonian Monte Carlo sampling in order to obtain safe rollouts of the open-loop dynamics which are then used to obtain an approximation of the truncated normal distribution which has full probability mass in the safe area. We provide formal guarantees of constraint satisfaction while maintaining the ODE structure of the Gaussian Process on a discretized grid. Moreover, we show that we are able to perform optimization of a quadratic cost function by closed form Gaussian Process computations only and introduce the Matérn kernel into the inference model.}},

  abstract     = {{Objective
Epidemiological evidence on muscle dysmorphia (MD) remains limited, and self-report algorithm-defined estimates may depend on sampling and case definitions. We examined how algorithm-defined MD estimates and exploratory correlates varied across weighting and case-definition scenarios in a gender-balanced German online sample.
Method
In this cross-sectional web-based study, 1468 adults from Germany completed self-report measures: 739 (50.3%) men, 706 (48.1%) women, 21 (1.4%) nonbinary/diverse participants, and 2 (0.1%) who preferred not to disclose their gender. Algorithm-defined MD was estimated using a self-report algorithm derived from prior epidemiological work. Estimates were compared across four scenarios combining unweighted versus age- and gender-weighted analyses with global versus gender-specific criterion A cutoffs. Logistic regression models examined correlates across weighted and unweighted analytic specifications.
Results
Algorithm-defined estimates varied substantially across operationalizations. The unweighted global algorithm yielded an estimate of 6.2% overall and 11.0% in men. The weighted gender-specific scenario yielded 2.6% overall, 3.5% in men, and 1.7% in women. Across regression specifications, lower BMI and higher identity disturbance were the most consistent correlates of algorithm-defined MD. Female gender showed lower odds in pooled models, particularly under the global cutoff, but this finding should be interpreted cautiously.
Discussion
Self-report algorithm-defined MD may affect a meaningful minority of adults, but estimates depend strongly on weighting strategy and case definition. These findings highlight the need for transparent reporting of algorithmic operationalizations.

Knowledge about mobile app devel-opment models' usage remains restricted, although various process models for B2X app development have been published already. This article first reviewed available process models for mobile app development. In addition, 28 expert in-terviews with various stakeholders involved in typical B2X mobile app develop-ment processes were conducted to examine this research-practice knowledge di-vide. Since hybrid process models are often advantageous for B2X mobile app development, technical backgrounds or communication processes, are also cru-cial. Since no process model can be used unadopted, this study theorizes mobile-specific characteristics and challenges of app development process models to a reference model generally valuable for management decision support. The find-ings create avenues for better theorizing toward successful B2X mobile app de-velopment. }},

abstract = {{Konstruktionen der Nachkriegsmoderne: Kirchen

abstract = {{If high demands are placed on a technical system in terms of its reliability, it is typically designed to be modular and redundant. However, a modular design also offers the potential for optimised operation of the system, for example through a clever choice of operating point. This paper presents a holistic approach to optimise the selection of an operating point for modular, parallel and reconfigurable mechatronic systems. The existing challenges are identified using the practical example of a modular DC fast charging system for electric vehicles. Practical solutions for these challenges are also presented. In particular, the provision of data for operating point selection and optimised operating point selection will be discussed. Finally, a comparison is made with conventional operating point selection. This shows that our approach enables a higher efficiency of the charging system.}},

abstract = {{In recent years, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) has emerged as a promising technology for designing application-specific chatbots. RAG combines a Large Language Model (LLM) with application-specific information provided via a database. This opens up the possibility for companies to at least partially automate existing business processes using RAG. One use case relates to work preparation at a mechanical engineering company. Due to the high complexity of the products and the wide variety of variants, creating assembly instructions for individual assemblies and modules involves a considerable amount of administrative work. The use of RAG can help to significantly improve the efficiency of this process. However, a key challenge is to ensure high quality of automatically generated assembly instructions. While existing research has focused on feedback mechanisms for improving LLMs, the effectiveness of different prompt-based feedback types on RAG-generated technical documentation quality has not yet been sufficiently investigated. This article therefore explores how quality of assembly instructions can be improved by integrating feedback mechanisms into a RAG system. For this purpose, two different feedback mechanisms were used in a laboratory experiment. On the one hand, an exclusively quantitative feedback mechanism was used. On the other hand, quantitative and qualitative feedback were combined. The results demonstrate that feedback mechanisms contribute to improving quality of information in assembly instructions. In addition, it was found that exclusively quantitative feedback leads to similarly good results as more complex combined feedback.}},

Purpose

Blockchain technology is widely discussed as an enabler of transparency, efficiency and trust in supply chain management (SCM). However, empirical evidence on which blockchain-related success dimensions translate into value perceptions remains limited. This study aims to examine how the perceived relevance of blockchain success dimensions relates to realized benefits and whether these benefits contribute to overall perceived blockchain value.
Design/methodology/approach

A quantitative survey of 41 companies with blockchain experience in SCM is conducted. Success dimensions are prioritized using best–worst scaling (MaxDiff). Relationships between perceived relevance, dimension-specific benefits and overall perceived value are analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). Exploratory analyses assess company characteristics.
Findings

Contrary to dominant expectations in academic and practitioner narratives, even highly prioritized blockchain success dimensions fail to translate into measurable firm-level value perceptions. While transparency and traceability are associated with significant dimension-specific benefits, these improvements do not produce statistically significant direct or indirect effects on overall perceived blockchain value. This suggests that localized operational gains alone may be insufficient to generate overall perceived value and indicates that blockchain benefits may depend on broader organizational and technological complements.
Originality/value

The study moves beyond identifying potential blockchain benefits by empirically differentiating which success dimensions matter and which do not. By combining MaxDiff with PLS-SEM, it offers a structured, mechanism-oriented framework for evaluating blockchain success and highlights boundary conditions for value realization in SCM.

  abstract     = {{Introduction:

Heart transplantation (HTX), a treatment for end-stage heart failure, is accompanied by substantial psychological and physical strain for recipients. Many individuals develop Donor and Donation Images (DDI), referring to the thoughts and emotions directed toward the donor and/or the transplanted organ. The present study aims to systematically quantify the content dimensions of DDI and to explore their associations with psychological well-being and perceived organ acceptance.

Methods:

A total of 407 adult post-HTX patients participated in the survey. A self-developed questionnaire assessed 12 content categories of DDI, together with their perceived consequences. Descriptive analysis, gender comparisons, and exploratory factor analysis (EFA) were conducted to examine the underlying structure of DDI. Linear regressions and Spearman correlations were used in an exploratory manner to investigate statistical associations between DDI factors and psychological and emotional outcomes.

Results:

The analysis of 402 complete datasets yielded three content factors: Social, Sex/Age, and Identity, capturing different facets of DDI. Women were more likely than men to contemplate the donor’s gender, age, and personality traits. Regression analysis showed small but statistically significant associations between the Social factor and perceived changes in personality and behavior, as well as between the Social and Sex/Age factors and positive emotional consequences. Across all models, the explained variance was low. No meaningful associations were observed with organ acceptance.

Discussion:

This study represents the first quantitative attempt to structure the contents of DDI and to examine their psychological correlates in a large cohort of HTX recipients. While the observed associations were modest, the findings contribute to a more nuanced understanding of how recipients engage cognitively and emotionally with their donor. The results underscore the need for further research, including instrument refinement and longitudinal designs, to better capture the complexity of DDI and their potential relevance for psychosocial care in transplantation.}},

  abstract     = {{Background
Muscle dysmorphia (MD) is characterized by an excessive concern of not being muscular enough. Sociocultural influences appear to play a central role in the internalization of muscular beauty ideals and the development of MD. No study has examined the potential mediating pathways from sociocultural pressure sources through internalized beauty standards to an algorithm-defined MD diagnosis in the general German population.
Methods
A cross-sectional survey was conducted among adults (≥ 18 years) in Germany via the Online Platform Prolific®. Participants completed standardized questionnaires assessing sociocultural influences and internalization of different beauty standards (SATAQ-4R) and a clinically algorithm-defined MD, operationalized using criteria by Pope et al. [4], following the approach described by Mitchison et al. [14]. Data were weighted to approximate representativeness for the German population across the key demographics age and gender.
Results
In the total sample, a binary logistic regression indicated that internalization of the beauty standards Thin/Low body fat, Muscularity, and General Attractiveness significantly predicted algorithm-defined MD, whereas sociocultural pressure sources such as Family, Peers, Significant Others, and Media were not significant. In linear regression models, Media pressures predicted all forms of internalization, while Peer pressure predicted only Muscularity internalization. Mediation analyses indicated that internalization, particularly internalization of ideals of Muscularity, significantly mediated the relationship between Media and Peer pressures and algorithm-defined MD. Gender-specific analyses also showed Muscularity internalization as the key mediator for both men and women. In men, internalization of General Attractiveness ideals additionally mediated the relationship between Media pressure and MD. In women, only Family had a significant effect on algorithm-defined MD, mediated via Muscularity Internalization.
Discussion
Our findings highlight that internalization, particularly of the Muscularity ideal, appears to be a core mechanism linking sociocultural pressures to algorithm-defined MD. These results provide empirical evidence that interventions for MD need to focus on modifying internalized appearance ideals, especially the Muscularity ideal, to reduce MD symptoms in both men and women, with additional attention to General Attractiveness internalization in men.}},

a design-research experiment that repositions the robot from a fabrication tool
to an active collaborator in spatial exploration. A turn-based assembly process
enables a human designer and a robotic arm to alternately place modular bricks
within a shared three-dimensional environment. Each move is evaluated through
computational rules—support, stability, and collision—and interpreted in real
time via an AI image-to-image diffusion model. This sequential exchange
establishes a reciprocal design dialogue: the human reads the robot’s action as
a spatial proposition, while the robot responds to the evolving structure.
Creative agency becomes distributed across human and machine, encouraging
reflection on intent and positioning robotic intelligence as a source of suggestion
rather than execution. By prioritizing responsiveness and interpretation over

In this study, the structural and bioactive properties of sunflower protein isolate and its enzymatic hydrolysates were systematically investigated. The hydrolysates were fractionated using low-pressure preparative gradient chromatography (LP-PGC), and their antioxidant capacity, along with angiotensin-converting enzyme and dipeptidyl peptidase-IV inhibitory activities relevant to metabolic health, were assessed. Structural analyses via sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and scanning electron microscopy revealed significant alterations in molecular weight distribution and surface morphology after hydrolysis and fractionation, confirming the generation of low-molecular-weight peptides linked to improved bioactivity. The results demonstrated a clear fraction-dependent bioactivity profile. MTT-based cell viability analysis of HepG2 and Caco-2 cells indicates that the non-toxicity of the hydrolysates depends on both their concentration and the cell type. To identify potential areas for NWRM, this study applied and methodologically expanded an existing approach for identifying dominant runoff processes (DRPs) to an agricultural sub-catchment in the Weserbergland region of Germany. The DRP were determined using a Geographic Information System (GIS) and validated through field surveys. Potential areas for water retention within the same runoff process classes were identified for three defined objectives: improving infiltration, extending flow paths, and redirecting runoff to surrounding areas. Spatial differentiation was achieved using accumulated catchment area and overland flow distance. The watershed is predominantly characterized by surface runoff (Hortonian Overland Flow). Field validation confirmed the DRP classification for around two-thirds of the study area, with deviations occurring predominantly on arable land. Supplementing the DRP approach with a topographic analysis allowed for further differentiation, focusing on small, topographically defined sub-watersheds. The identified areas offer significant potential for interventions. Combined with supplementary data, analyses of the water network and the involvement of local stakeholders, the resulting potential map provides a solid basis for planning smaller-scale water retention measures.
}},

This case study investigated how one automated shading system with motorized venetian blinds affects sound perception of the acoustic environment in the immediate outdoor surroundings of a university campus building in Detmold, Germany. Procedures of ISO 12913 series for soundscape research were followed to conduct acoustic measurements and derive psychoacoustic indicators. Additionally, soundwalks involving 41 participants and a laboratory study using immersive virtual reality (VR) with 34 participants were conducted to assess how individuals perceive the acoustic environment. The results show that the operation of automated blinds increases sound levels above reference thresholds at short distances, and has a consistent effect on the soundscape, shifting it from pleasant and calm to annoying and chaotic. These trends are notable in both on-site and laboratory data. Additionally, when participants evaluated the soundscape in direct visual connection with the operating façade shading system, they perceived the sounds to be less chaotic than when they were not seeing the façade. These findings highlight that automated buildings and façades are active sound sources capable of influencing environmental quality through acoustic and non-acoustic effects; therefore, their influence on the soundscape should be considered within performance assessments, smart/automation policy, and sustainability frameworks.}},

We introduce Generative Twins (GT), a workflow that shifts digital twin creation from explicit geometric reconstruction toward probabilistic 3D synthesis. The pipeline takes a
single street-level façade photograph, corrects perspective distortion and removes occlusions, uses an instruction-conditioned multimodal image model to synthesise an isometric view of the building, and passes that view to an image-to-3D reconstruction model that leverages learned shape priors to produce a textured mesh without manual modelling. Three image to-3D platforms (Hitem3D, Hyper3D and Hunyuan3D 3.1) are compared on identical isometric inputs and assessed on architectural boundary clarity. We demonstrate GT through two applied cases: (i) reconstruction of ordinary residential streets in Detmold as stimuli for a virtual-reality study of multi sensory urban perception, and (ii) Green Editor, a design-exploration tool in which façade greenery is added or removed at the image layer before mesh generation.

Yet, gamification remains rare in manufacturing, with research reporting ambivalent effects on both worker well-being and productivity. Despite growing evidence that gamification affects individuals differently, experimental studies examining these effects often rely on relatively small sample sizes. To address this research gap, this work presents first results from an ongoing laboratory study investigating the effects of gamification in a production-related task (currently N = 229). Thereby, participants completed an assembly task with an assistance system providing step-by-step instructions. The aim of the study is to (I) evaluate whether varying the game design elements (points, leaderboard and avatar) affect key performance indicators (task speed and error rate) differently as well as (II) to assess whether the effects on these performance indicators are moderated by factors such as individual characteristics or demographics. So far, the results indicate that points may reduce the task completion time, while not increasing the number of errors. By incorporating individual characteristics into the analysis, the study aims to provide first insights into heterogeneous responses to gamification and to identify which employees benefit most from specific game design elements in production settings.}},
