  abstract     = {{In memoriam Dietrich Kern (29th Juli 1934 – 8th October 2025) – A brief biography, together with personal recollections and memories of Dietrich Kern is presented. Dietrich made cover drawings of odonates in high quality for the journals Libellula and Libellula Supplement in a relevant number. He played a prominent role in the study of Gomphus vulgatissimus, in local faunistics in agricultural areas, and in co-operation with the French odonatology.
