Topography based approaches achieve higher correlation to human perception but are often based on linear measurement which cannot be applied for an overall assessment of larger surfaces. Thus an algorithm was developed to calculate a specific value based on topographic features, such as orange peel, within the research project ‘Development of a comprehensive quality concept for furniture high gloss surfaces’, funded by the federal Ministry of Education and Research. For the evaluation of short waved structures on furniture high gloss surfaces the ratio of hill height to hill area was chosen. This parameter proves to be applicable for an evaluation of the extent of a single.\r\n"}],"oa":"1","user_id":"45673","title":"Development of an Algorithm for Measuring the Quality of High Gloss Surfaces Correlated to Human Perception","main_file_link":[{"url":"https://www.hs-owl.de/fileadmin/diman/Veroeffentlichungen/PEM_Tagung_zusammen2015.pdf","open_access":"1"}],"publication":"Production Engineering and Management","page":"99-110","department":[{"_id":"DEP1306"}],"language":[{"iso":"eng"}],"keyword":["High gloss","surface measurement","topographic features","quality assessment"],"place":"Lemgo","related_material":{"link":[{"url":"https://www.hs-owl.de/fileadmin/diman/Veroeffentlichungen/PEM_Tagung_zusammen2015.pdf","relation":"contains"}]},"author":[{"first_name":"Andrea","last_name":"Huxol","full_name":"Huxol, Andrea","id":"43559"},{"last_name":"Riegel","full_name":"Riegel, Adrian","id":"14647","first_name":"Adrian"},{"id":"59843","last_name":"Dekomien","full_name":"Dekomien, Kerstin","first_name":"Kerstin"}],"publication_status":"published","issue":"1","corporate_editor":["Department of Production Engineering and Management","Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe"],"publication_identifier":{"isbn":["978-3-941645-11-0"]},"citation":{"short":"A.
