What we offer

The Career Service of the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts supports students in finding the right career path for them. With the Career Center, we offer you an online platform where you can research job offers, find out about exclusive recruiting events and workshops, exchange ideas with other students and alumni in the community and be easily found by recruiting experts from companies. You can also book consultation appointments with us and find exciting company profiles.

Companies will find what they are looking for in our Career Center if they are looking for talented, committed young professionals. You are also welcome to support us with offers for our workshop program so that our students can benefit from your expertise and experience. This also gives you the opportunity to get in personal contact with our students.

Career Counselling
We support you with all your questions about career orientation, career planning and career entry. So please do not hesitate to contact us! Our advice is confidential and, of course, free of charge. You can find detailed information here or at the Career Center, where you can also book appointments yourself online.

The Career Service regularly organizes and hosts workshops and lectures in cooperation with internal and external experts on various topics in the areas of career orientation, career planning and interdisciplinary professional skills.

Career Services for Students with a Disability, Chronic or Mental Illness

Do you have a disability or suffer from a chronic or mental illness and are wondering how to deal with this, for example in a job interview? The Career Service will be happy to advise and support you on this and related questions. Feel free to book an appointment or send us an e-mail!

Unsure whether you should tell others about your condition?
The University of Cologne has developed a self-test (available only in german at this point) that can help you to,

  • sort out your thoughts,
  • collect arguments for and against disclosing your health condition (based on scientific research),
  • get a personalized evaluation of your answers and thus support you in your decision.

We would also like to recommend myAbility to you. The myability team is committed to an equal opportunities society, supports companies on their way to an inclusive corporate culture and supports students and graduates with disabilities or chronic illnesses, including those with a neurodivergent background, in a variety of ways when starting their careers:

  • The myAbility Talent® program is aimed at students and academics with accessibility requirements in the workplace. The program supports you free of charge through 1:1 consulting, workshops, coaching and networking events with inclusive companies and takes place every spring. Dropping Out of University - And Then? Guidance and Coaching on Follow-up Perspectives

Are you thinking about dropping out of university or have you already decided to drop out of your studies? We won't leave you alone!

In the Career Centre's advice module, you have the opportunity to book an appointment directly with a Career Services advisor to get information and guidance. Alternatively, you can send us an e-mail!

The BMBF's website "Studienabbruch - und dann?" (available only in german) also offers a lot of useful information on the topic of doubting and dropping out of university.

The Career Service is committed to fostering close networking of students and employers. We are your central point of contact for university marketing and on campus recruitment at the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Publish job vacancies in our Career Center, create a company profile there to present your company as an attractive company and show your presence in and with events for our young professionals.
