Practical Experience during Your Studies
Acquire job-specific skills and get a taste of real working life
The best way to find out which job-specific skills are really important in an industry/company is to gain practical experience. Practical experience can also help you to find out where you see yourself professionally in the future. You may have always had the idea of working in a certain industry/company after graduation. You can and should take the practical test to find out whether your ideas of working in this industry/company are up to the reality test!
You can gain practical experience in a variety of ways during your studies: As part of (compulsory) internships, working student activities, part-time jobs, practical programs during your studies or via job shadowing. You can find vacancies for internships, student traineeships and part-time jobs in our Career Center, for example, or on company careers pages, as this practical experience can also be a first step on your career path.
In the "Tips & Downloads" module in the Career Center, we provide you with information on all aspects of internships (preparation, do's and don'ts, follow-up).
