PLC Programming Up Close: Successful Intensive Course for Our Master's IT Students

During the semester break, a group of our Master's IT students had the opportunity to participate in a multi-day intensive course on PLC programming. This was already the second course of its kind and was made possible thanks to the generous support of Phoenix Contact. The event took place at the Innovation Campus Lemgo, in the Centrum Industrial IT (CIIT) – germany‘s first "Science-to-Business Center" for industrial automation.

The course, initiated by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Jasperneite, provided the students with valuable insights and hands-on knowledge about control programming. Using PLC Next Technology as an example, participants were able to gain both basic and advanced skills in industrial automation, preparing them well for future professional challenges.

Programmable Logic Controllers are the "brain" of every automated technical system. They control and monitor complex processes, enabling industrial systems to operate efficiently and flexibly. The students had the opportunity to experience firsthand the functions and applications of this essential technology.

This course is part of our extracurricular Future World Empowerment Program in the Master's IT program, which aims to equip students with cutting-edge skills and knowledge to shape the future of technology and society.

A heartfelt thanks goes to Phoenix Contactand our Trainer Matthias Nolte for making this exciting and educational event possible. Their support and provision of resources not only offered the students a practical education but also provided them with deep insights into modern technologies that play a key role in industry.
