Apply now for a study exchange semester abroad
We accept applications exclusively online via our mobility platform SoleMOVE. You can submit an application for a place at a TH OWL partner university for the summer semester 2026 between 1 July and 1 September 2026. You may apply to up to three partner universities worldwide.
The application portal is intended solely for processing applications; we therefore recommend that you seek advice in advance from the International Office regarding your stay abroad. This is the only way to find out about the requirements and the partner universities that are specifically suitable for you. You can find an overview of all current partner universities in your department, along with brief information, on the SoleMOVE homepage.
To log in to the SoleMOVE application portal, select ‘Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe (TH OWL) on the SoleMOVE homepage. In the login area, under ‘Log in using:’, select ‘TH OWL’. This will take you to the TH OWL login page, which you will be familiar with. Please enter your university login details here – the same ones you use to log in to other university services.
To the SoleMOVE application portal
You must upload the following documents with your online application:
- Motivation Letter in English
- CV in English
- Current certificate of enrolment
- A current academic transcript showing your average grade
- Proof* of your language proficiency in the language of instruction at your chosen partner university (e.g. language certificate, certificate of attendance for a language course, A-level certificate or the results of the assessment test from the TH OWL online language programme SPEEXX)
- Portfolio (only Detmold School of Design and Department of Media and Culture)
- Declaration of Honour: Erasmus Social Top-up (if applicable)
- Declaration of Honour: Erasmus travel days
* Please note that further proof of language proficiency may be required when applying to the partner university.
We will let you know approximately 2–4 weeks after the application deadline which partner university you have been nominated for and what the next steps are. We always try to take your first choice into account wherever possible.
