Study at a freely chosen university (Free Mover)

No suitable partner university here? You can apply as a freemover at any freely chosen university that offers your subject worldwide.
Application procedure

No suitable partner university here? You can apply as a freemover at any freely chosen university that offers your subject worldwide. Either directly at the chosen university or through a placement organization

At some universities abroad - especially where English is spoken as the mother tongue - proof of sufficient English skills must be submitted with the application for a study place. The classic tests are TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, but the DAAD language certificate is also being accepted as equivalent evidence at more and more universities.

As a free mover, it is your responsibility to apply to the selected partner university according to the deadlines and formalities. Your stay abroad must also be organized and financed by yourself.

However, a Learning Agreement is essential for the recognition of achievements at the university abroad, which must be drawn up in cooperation with the department before the stay abroad and signed by the responsible persons at both universities.
Supporting organizations that help you organize your study visit can be found in the tab below.

If your application is successful, you have the option of obtaining financial support through scholarship programs. Please note the Financing tab.
