The award recognizes organizations from the fields of business, science, and administration that have successfully anchored equality and diversity in their personnel and organizational policies. In its statement, the jury particularly highlights the "innovative measures to promote an appreciative and diversity-oriented university environment": For example, the focus professorship "TH OWL Diversity Inclusivity Hub" and multi-layered family-friendly support services are rated positively and, in the jury's opinion, contribute to a future-oriented work, degree program, and research culture.
The jury also positively highlighted that TH OWL has made equal opportunities a strategic goal in its university development and equality plan. It is particularly committed to promoting a good work-life balance. During the current reporting period, a family fund for students with family responsibilities was introduced, long-term working accounts for employees were set up, and thematic information events were held.
"We are very pleased about this renewed recognition," explains the President of TH OWL, Professor Dr. Jürgen Krahl. At the same time, he emphasizes: "Despite this award, we are not resting on our laurels. The issue of equal opportunities is dynamic – we must continue to develop." The central Equal Opportunities Officer at TH OWL, Dr. Meike Seidel-Kehde, also thanks all members of the university who contributed to this positive result with their commitment.
