Exchange at management level: Guests from Aachen visit Innovation Campus

TH OWL recently welcomed some high-ranking visitors: Professor Dr. Thomas Ritz, Rector of FH Aachen, and Professor Dr. Christof Schelthoff, Vice Rector for IT and Strategic Planning, visited TH OWL to discuss strategic IT topics with the university management.

The discussion focused on issues of cost-effectiveness and IT security, two key drivers when it comes to cross-university collaboration. In addition to technical infrastructure, the standardization of software solutions and the harmonization of processes were also highlighted.

It became clear that successful cooperation does not begin with hardware, but with a shared strategic vision of IT.

"Personal exchange at management level is an important step in developing joint approaches for the future," emphasized Professor Dr. Jürgen Krahl, President of TH OWL. The meeting provided a framework for an open discussion about challenges, potential, and synergies.

The guests from Aachen were impressed by their visit to Lemgo: "The openness of the exchange and the many parallels between the two universities were very helpful," summarized Professor Ritz. Both particularly liked the campus: "The spatial and content-related integration of teaching, research, and transfer, as well as the great cooperation between the participants, seems to us to be forward-looking."

The exchange is to be continued – with a clear goal: a strong, networked, and sustainable IT landscape at universities in North Rhine-Westphalia.
