Doctoral candidates, young scientists, and experts participated in intensive interactive sessions and collaborated in the areas of fuel technology, alternative fuels, and sustainability.
The opening speech on the topic of "Innovations" was given by Dr. Jens Utecht, formerly employed by the world's largest chemical company. This workshop was supported by a biodiesel producer from Ochsenfurt who develops new renewable fuels. Managing Director Dr. Ralph Türck emphasized the importance of bridges between research and industry, for example through regular exchanges between doctoral candidates and entrepreneurs. The workshop was a good start to expanding and specializing in these connections.
Leopold Seifert, a doctoral candidate at the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), and Professor Dr. Thomas Garbe, head of the fuels division at a well-known German automobile manufacturer, were also eager to hear the content and engage in a lively and critical discussion of the topic. "Above all, it is important that this and future workshops give rise to many new research ideas," said Garbe.
All those present emphasized that gathering and discussing knowledge, experience, and new research results in the field of fuels provides important elements for cooperation between entrepreneurs and doctoral students and is also important for the general future of industry and research.
"We are delighted to provide space and support for fuel research here at the Innovation Campus Lemgo, especially in light of the new UrbanLand mobility center. I look forward to continuing this in 2025," concluded the university president.
