The ZZHH publishes new podcast episode

The transnational Future Center Holzminden-Höxter (ZZHH), which is operated as a cooperative research institution by the TH OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts in North Rhine-Westphalia and the HAWK University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Lower Saxony, has published a new episode of its podcast "Land.Schafft.Wissen." (Land.Creates.Knowledge.). In it, Professor Klaus Maas and Professor Christian Jolk from TH OWL explain their work on the Seesonar project and report on their latest research trip to Venda in South Africa.

"What win-win situation results from the joint research conducted by TH OWL and the University of Venda in South Africa on the use of our most important resource, water? What can both sides learn from each other?" asks well-known presenter Katrin Degenhardt of researchers Professor Maas and Professor Jolk in the latest podcast episode. The two scientists from TH OWL provide insights into the Seesonar project and the surveying of lake and river beds using a specially developed water ultrasound device, a so-called water drone. The aim is to generate data for optimization of water management in the areas under investigation. Professor Maas and Professor Jolk report on the measurements taken in the Höxter district and in northeastern South Africa during their research stay, and they describe the differences and challenges they face in their work in these different regions. Both emphasize the importance of such international collaborations—both for the research results, their mutual benefits, and learning from each other, as well as for the students, who can gain valuable experience for their future careers.

You can listen to the podcast on all popular platforms and on the website of the Zukunftszentrum Holzminden-Höxter (ZZHH), www.das-zukunftszentrum.de. There you will also find accompanying material and further information on the individual episodes. As the ZZHH is based on the idea that the future can only be shaped together, the editorial team welcomes feedback, ideas, and suggestions.
