“Stay curious. Because curiosity keeps us alive and sparks our interest in what lies beyond the boundaries of our past experiences,” said Associate Dean Professor Dr. Ralf Steffen as he, together with the faculty, welcomed the graduates, their families, and the other guests.
TH OWL Vice President Professor Dr. Yvonne-Christin Knepper-Bartel, Höxter Mayor Daniel Hartmann, and Matthias Köhne from AfV praised in their remarks the professional and personal skills the graduates acquired during their degree programs and can now apply in their future careers.
The ceremony also recognized special coursework. Three female graduates received awards for outstanding results. Honors were given to the top students in their class as well as to Theses that stood out for their high academic quality and innovative creative approaches.
The General Student Committee also bid farewell to the graduates. In his speech, Maximilian Götte reflected on their time together as students and offered them best wishes for their future paths.
Professor Steffen, Vice President Professor Knepper-Bartel, Mayor Hartmann, and the Chair of the Examination Board, Professor Dr. Boris Stemmer, then presented the diplomas.
“You are leaving the university with the knowledge and skills to help shape the open spaces, squares, parks, and cities of tomorrow. We wish you courage, curiosity, and joy for everything that lies ahead,” said Professor Steffen as he bid farewell to the graduates.
The diploma ceremony marked the end of an important chapter in the lives of these young professionals. Afterward, the Dean’s Office hosted a reception for everyone.
