A Modern Framework for Interdisciplinary Research

How can universities pool their expertise even more effectively? TH-OWL President Professor Dr. Jürgen Krahl and Professor Dr. Christian Facchi, Academic Director of the Doctoral School at the Technical University of Ingolstadt (THI) and former member of the German Science Council, discussed this question during a visit to the Innovation Campus Lemgo. The discussion focused on potential collaborations in research and academic training.

During a tour, Professor Facchi familiarized himself with the research and technology transfer infrastructure at TH OWL. Among other things, he was introduced to InnovationSPIN and the university’s current projects.

The guest was impressed by the diverse range of activities, the modern framework for interdisciplinary research, and the resulting research achievements. He was particularly impressed by the cross-sectoral, unreserved collaboration: “Cooperation without barriers is consistently put into practice—you can see that on the campus,” praised Professor Facchi.

Both universities intend to continue the dialogue they have begun and further explore common ground for future collaboration. “Our goal is to intensify the exchange between THI and TH OWL and to develop new impetus for research and the promotion of early-career researchers,” emphasized Professor Krahl.
