Professor Beate Küpper speaks on behalf of the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences about right-wing parties and their ideologies. These have been experiencing an upswing for some time now, not only in Germany. For their sometimes extreme propaganda, they often use topics that trigger emotions in potential voters, stir up potential conflicts, and generate resistance against supposedly "corrupt elites" and those who think differently.
Populist hot topics include climate change and the energy transition, which are presented and discussed as "smoldering threatening changes."
Professor Küpper researches and teaches social work in group and conflict situations and will critically examine the question of "How right-wing populism exploits the issue of climate change and the energy transition."
Following the lecture, there will be an opportunity for discussion with the speaker and the audience.

About the lecture series "GEMEINSAM NACHHALTIG" (Sustainable Together): The urgently needed transformation to a more sustainable way of life can only be achieved through a concerted effort by society as a whole.
