Accompanied by the onset of winter, Professor Dr. André Springer and Sven Lohöfener set off with the students early in the morning to DMG MORI AG in Bielefeld. It should be worth it. An exciting factory tour, which allowed a deep insight into the company, was followed by a workshop specially tailored to the students of the TH OWL on the 3D printing of metal components.
DMG MORI is a global manufacturer of high-precision machine tools offering manufacturing solutions in areas such as turning, milling and additive manufacturing.
During the excursion, the students had the opportunity to prepare the digital models they had created themselves in advance with the help of the software so that they could be printed from steel on a production line in the next step.
Hannes Ebbers from DMG MORI Academy GmbH shared his many years of practical experience with the students and gave a few crucial tips for ensuring high component quality.
At the end of the event, all participants agreed that the trip to snowy Bielefeld had more than paid off and thanked their hosts warmly for the intensive support they had received on site.
