What Central Jutland and East Westphalia-Lippe have in common

Cooperation opportunities explored and points of contact found: Last month, the Department of Business Development and Technology (BTECH) from Aarhus University (Denmark) visited the TH OWL with seven professors and five doctoral students.

In research, teaching and transfer, BTECH forms an interface between people, technology and organization. Application-oriented research and close contact with regional companies make BTECH a central player in strengthening the Central Jutland economic region.

After a lecture session by professors from BTECH and TH OWL to introduce each other's research and teaching activities, the group visited the SmartFactoryOWL, the Future Food Factory OWL, the laboratory building of the Department of Production and Wood Technology, and the KreativInstitut.OWL in Detmold.

A look at practical applications rounded off the program: the local companies Isringhausen GmbH & Co. KG and Hora Holter Regelarmaturen GmbH & Co. KG offered exciting insights into current trends and challenges in the regional industry in OWL.

The visit of BTECH in Lemgo was the result of the collaboration between Professor Dr. Sven Tackenberg and the BTECH Institute and Jan-Phillip Herrmann's current research stay as a guest PhD at the institute's location in Herning. “We have had a wonderful trip to Lemgo. Jan-Phillip and Sven made a great program and we have seen so much,” praised institute director Anders Frederiksen.

The exchange highlighted the diverse synergies between BTECH and TH OWL and sparked interest in future collaborations. Further agreements in this regard will follow shortly.
