In a world where machines, sensor technology, and intelligence are increasingly converging, engineers are in demand to design the interfaces between mechanics, electronics, and Information Technology. The Master's program in Mechatronic Systems (M.Sc.) at TH OWL offers exactly this opportunity:

• You will gain a deep understanding of Mechatronics systems as a whole – from sensor and actuator technology to control systems and software.

• Your degree: Master of Science (M.Sc.). Standard period of study: 4 semesters. Language of instruction: German.
• Study site: Innovation Campus Lemgo – in the center of Ostwestfalen-Lippe – close to small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) and innovative projects.

Who is the degree program suitable for?

For graduates of a bachelor's degree in engineering – especially in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related degree programs – who want to specialize and qualify for demanding responsibilities in industry and research.

The degree program is structured in such a way that you will become methodologically and technically proficient—right up to your independent master's thesis.
Overview of course content:

1. Semester: Specialization in mathematical methods, digital Control Technology and Simulation, machine dynamics & simulation, functional materials, scientific work, management skills.
2. Semester: Mechatronics system design, innovation and development strategies, compulsory elective modules for specialization.
3. Semester: Research project in preparation for the master's thesis.
4. Semester: Master's thesis + colloquium.

Our degree programs are designed for on-campus learning. Classes take place Monday through Friday according to your schedule. This ensures that all your courses are offered without overlap.

However, we also offer extensive online support. Many courses are available online and provide you with the necessary materials to study at your own pace. This does not completely replace attending in-person classes, but it does help you complete your degree program on time while balancing a part-time job and childcare.

After submitting an application, you must complete matriculation.

First, you apply for a place at university. After the application deadline, the TH reviews your application and, if successful, sends you a letter of acceptance.

Once you have accepted your place, you will formally complete matriculation in the degree program. The Enrollment Office will inform you of the documents required for this when you are admitted. That way, you won't forget anything! Matriculation is handled by the TH Enrollment Office. Your contact person is:
