The Faculty of Production and Engineering combines engineering expertise, economic thinking, and technological innovation. With our degree programs in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Digital Engineering, and Wood Technology, we offer a broad yet closely networked range of degree programs that meet the requirements of a dynamically changing industry.

Our professional identity is characterized by a strong practical focus, interdisciplinary thinking, and close ties to the regional economy. As a university in and for the region, we work closely with companies—especially small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). These collaborations enable practical teaching content, exciting project work, internships, and Theses that are closely aligned with professional reality.

The degree program in the Faculty of Production and Engineering is clearly application-oriented. In the first semesters, solid engineering fundamentals and methodological skills are taught. Building on this, students specialize in modern laboratories, projects, and compulsory elective modules. Practical semesters, stays abroad, and participation in research and development projects open up additional perspectives and promote both professional and personal skills.

In addition to teaching, applied research plays a central role. Together with our partners, we develop practical solutions to current technical and organizational issues – a win-win situation for companies, students, and the university alike.
