Excursion to Weidmüller GmbH & Co KG inspires students of sustainable production management

During an excursion to Weidmüller GmbH & Co KG in Detmold, students of sustainable production management had the opportunity to learn about numerous processes and aspects of sustainability management and the circular economy in practice.

The interaction between ecology and economy was a particular focus of interest in the numerous discussions. Mark Edler from Weidmüller GmbH gave an impressive presentation on how a sustainable circular economy is possible with regard to plastic products.

Under the expert guidance of Robin Kesting, a graduate of FB7 at TH OWL, the processes presented were viewed during a factory tour of the production facilities. The excursion concluded with a discussion on the future of the circular economy in industrial production. Problems and potential were compared and solutions for future processes were outlined.
