Access eMedia, subject databases

General information

The library offers a large repertoire of electronic journals, books, online videos and specialised databases for its users.  These are usually immediately accessible on the campus network.

Access from outside the campus network - As a member of the university, you can also access the products from outside. To do this, dial into the university network via OpenVPN. Here you can find detailed information on dialling into the university network.

Alternative to dialling into the university network - Some products can also be used with your user name and password for university user account. The provider will forward you to our user administration using the Shibboleth authentication procedure.
Ideally, once you have logged in, you will be forwarded to the next provider.
A list of publishers and database providers where this procedure is possible can be found under the tab "Access with user account".

Other registration procedures - A few providers have developed individual registration procedures.
You can find a list of publishers and database providers for whom this is the case via the "Other registrations" tab.

Access with user account

Some providers allow you to log in with your university username and password (via the Shibboleth authentication procedure). If you find hits from these providers in the media search, you can usually access the full texts via the login and in the second step with the selection of the Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe via the institutional login.

Pharmacopoeia Commentary (Arzneibuch-Kommentar) - When using it for the first time, it is necessary to create an individual account. Please click on the link "I don't have an account yet. Register now" ("Ich habe noch kein Konto. Jetzt registrieren"). Use your university e-mail address to set up your account.
After logging in, you can access the commentary by scrolling down the list of pharmacopoeias to the bottom

DWA rules and regulations (DWA-Regelwerk) - To register, please first use the function "My institution has a major customer subscription to the rules and regulations" ("Meine Institution hat ein Großkundenabo zum Regelwerk") and use your university e-mail address to set up access. You can then use the regulations via "Login".

European Pharmacopoeia (Europäisches Arzneibuch) - It is necessary to create an individual account when using the site for the first time. Please click on the link "I don't have an account yet. Register now" ("Ich habe noch kein Konto. Jetzt registrieren"). Use your university e-mail address to set up access.

LinkedIn video tutorials - To use the LinkedIn video tutorials, these requirements are necessary.

ProQuest eBook Central - In our media search you will find numerous eBook titles from the provider ProQuest. The titles are initially "just an offer" and can be read online free of charge for 5 minutes. For longer use, the titles must first be activated.
