Maths

The mathematics preliminary course is offered online on the learning plattform eCampus (ILIAS). It consists of comprehensive online material that you can work on independently, i.e. independently of time and place, at your own pace and with your own learning strategy from 5 August 2024.

The course begins with an initial test to determine your current level of knowledge. These results are used to create customised learning recommendations for you. The test results cannot be viewed by your future professor!

Until the start of the semester (09 - 20 September 2024), accompanying practice courses (so-called tutorials) will also be offered in presence and online.

Learning content

The preliminary course contains the following learning content:

  • Mathematical basics
  • Arithmetic
  • Equations and inequalities
  • Powers, roots, logarithms
  • Functions
  • Geometry
  • Trigonometry

Tutorials

You can ask questions that arise during your studies to experienced lecturers and students in supervised tutorials. In addition to clarifying your questions, you will work on tasks together at these meetings and discuss the solutions. The courses are offered both on site and online.

Important: The tutorials are designed to support your learning process. You work on the online materials independently at your own pace and can then attend the tutorials to clarify questions and deepen your knowledge.

In this video you will learn how the maths pre-course is structured (in german language):
