Login/Logout on the Student Portal
You can access the Student Portal using a web browser by entering the following URL:

Do you have a valid university certificate? - If you do not yet have a university certificate, the following link will tell you how to obtain one: Obtaining a university certificate: Obtaining a user certifiacte
Is the university certificate installed in the web browser you are using? - If you have not yet installed a valid user certificate in your web browser, first go to the Setup chapter in Installation.
Are you enrolled or have you re-enrolled correctly? - Enrolment/re-enrolment in a degree programme at the university is valid. If you have not re-enrolled in the current semester or have been de-registered, you cannot use the online portal.
Does the web browser you are using accept cookies from the Student Portal? - The Student Portal cookies must also be accepted for correct operation after logging in.
Are any firewall settings blocking access to the Student Portal website? - Locally installed security software (e.g. Kasperski Internet Security or similar) must allow access to the Student Portal URL in the web browser. You may need to add the URL of the Student Portal https://secure.th-owl.de to the trusted sites in your security software
Login
After accessing the Student Portal pages, you will be asked to enter your password. The user name is already pre-assigned from the data of the installed university certificate and cannot be changed.

Login not successful
If the access data is incorrect, the message "Login failed" will appear below the login screen.
In this case, please check whether the usage requirements are all met and, if necessary, contact an S(kim) service point at your location for clarification. Alternatively, you can also send an e-mail to support@th-owl.de with details such as matriculation number, time of the login attempt, web browser used and, if possible, the node designation (e.g. Node2) from the imprint bar.
Registration successful
Once you have successfully registered, you will be taken to the Student Portal where you can access numerous functions.
Logout
As soon as all actions have been carried out, you can log out regularly using the "Logout" function at the top left. A security notice will appear after logging out. You should follow this in your own interest.
After logging out, please read the notice. You can log in to the Student Portal again via the "Home" button.
