Setting up the user certificate in MS Internet Explorer

To install, double-click on the user certificate (file extension ".p12"), a installation wizard will open. Please click on "Next".

Select "My certificates" ("Eigene Zertifikate") in the small window and click "OK", then click "Next" ("Weiter").

The wizard will now show you an overview of the selected settings. Click on "Finish" ("Fertig stellen") to complete the installation.

To check whether everything is working, simply go to https://secure.th-owl.de- At this point, the web browser asks which certificate it should use; enter/select the usercertificate that has just been installed or allow access.
