University dial-in

What is the university dial-in (VPN) for?

With the university dial-in, you can access the university network from any location. In this way, you can access your personal network drive and shared network drives, forms on the intranet, licensed library content such as eBooks and similar resources.

Access requirements

You need an internet connection to establish a connection to the university network. All other components required to set up the VPN dial-in are:

  • VPN-client - The Software for VPN dial-in
  • University certificate - Already in use for the eduroam wireless network and our student portal QIS-Server
  • Configuration file - A configuration file with all the necessary parameters for the VPN dial-in, such as computer name, protocols, etc.

You can download all three components in the following instructions directly from the Internet without having to dial in (download).

  • Note: You have not yet applied for a university certificate? Then our documentation will help you. VPN dial-in via the university certificate has the advantage that it is not necessary to log in when using the VPN tool. Authentication takes place via the stored certificate.
  • Good to know: You will find your downloaded university certificate in the corresponding folder under the name "EduCert.p12".
