To use the university network (VPN connection), you must update the configuration file. Depending on your status group, this must be done by a specific date:
- Employees: August 14, 2026
- Students: October 19, 2026
What happens after these dates? A configuration file—which includes certificates, among other things—is required for the VPN connection. One of these certificates will expire, rendering the configurations invalid.
What can I do about this? A new configuration file must be installed on all devices used to access the university network. You do not need to completely reinstall the VPN software. We’ve provided a link below explaining how this works. You can update your configuration right away.
Do I really have to do this myself? Yes. Only devices managed by S(kim) (Administration, IWD, and S(kim)) will be updated centrally by us. For all other devices, the respective employees and students are responsible for updating them themselves. You can get support from S(kim) or the IT contacts in your departments.
How can I change the configuration?
