On Sunday, March 8, Archives Day will be celebrated throughout Germany. For the first time, the university archives of TH OWL will also be presenting themselves.
Under the motto “Lippe Archives Visit the State Archives of North Rhine-Westphalia, OWL Department in Detmold,” you will find us together with the city archives of Bad Salzuflen, Blomberg, Detmold, and Lemgo, the Lippe district archive, and the archive of the Lippe Regional Church in the State Archives in Detmold.
Visit us and take a look behind the doors of our archives. We will show you our work and offer insights into interesting exhibits.
One focus is on the topic of bequests and how private documents can bring new perspectives to archives. Our university archivist Elena Boßmeyer will give a short presentation on the members of the Meyer family. They were the directors of the carpentry school in Detmold—one of the predecessor institutions of today's TH.
