7 steps to your enrollment

Step 1: Register at Hochschulstart

The allocation of study places for our Bachelor's degree programs with restricted admission is coordinated centrally via the Germany-wide Hochschulstart platform. Therefore, please register here first of all. By registering, you will receive the so-called BID/BAN, which is required as an identifier for the further application procedure.

Step 2: Register in the KIS-Portal (NC allocation procedure)

By registering with us in the KIS-Portal, you activate your personal application account so that we can provide you with the best possible support on your way to us. When registering, please enter the BID/BAN you received from Hochschulstart in order to gain exclusive access to our Bachelor's degree programs with restricted admission. To protect your data, you must validate your account after registration. You will receive information on this immediately afterwards in the KIS-Portal and by e-mail.

Step 3: Log in and apply

After registration and validation, you can start your application process. To do this, log in to the KIS-Portal using the user ID and password you have received. Then please confirm your desired degree program by making the appropriate selection and complete the application form pages.

Step 4: Prioritize degree program at Hochschulstart

By prioritizing the TH OWL for your desired degree program, you increase the probability of being admitted and thus receiving a study place with us. You can set this up in the Hochschulstart portal.

Step 5: Admission decision (NC allocation procedure)

As a result of the NC allocation procedure, you will receive a corresponding notification with important information for the enrollment process after July 15 as part of the coordination phase. The result will be communicated to you both via Hochschulstart and via our KIS-Portal.

Please note: Please adhere to the deadline specified in the letter of admission and in the portals (especially the KIS-Portal). After expiry of this acceptance deadline, your entitlement to the admitted study place expires.

Step 6: Enroll (matriculate)

After you have received your letter of admission, you can apply for enrolment online at the TH OWL (online enrolment).

In addition to some statistical information, we require the following for enrollment

  • the semester fee,
  • the electronic health insurance certificate and
  • the documents to be submitted as specified in the letter of admission.

Step 7: Welcome e-mail

As soon as you have fulfilled all enrollment requirements, you will be enrolled as a student. You will receive a welcome e-mail to help you set up your personal onboarding at TH OWL: Welcome to TH OWL!
