Digitization engineering

Digitization has influenced all areas of our lives in a sustained way. We communicate via social media, the heating system in our smart home turns itself on, and our cars drive themselves autonomously. Digitization engineering deals with these areas of the economy.

Digitization will fundamentally change not only our lives, but also how we manufacture products. In the future, engineers will take an active role in shaping these new processes within companies. To do so, they must not only be familiar with “classic” basic principles of production engineering, but also have relevant IT expertise.

Graduates in digital engineering are highly sought after by industrial companies. They are in demand in any profession that requires production engineering knowledge and digitization expertise. Curriculum

Die Struktur des Studiengangs Digitalisierungsingenieurwesen folgt einem bewährten Grundkonzept: Sie erlernen die wesentlichen Grundlagen zur Mathematik, zu den Naturwissenschaften und zu ausgewählten Ingenieursdisziplinen, wie zum Beispiel der Fertigungstechnologie.

Parallel zu diesen Grundlagen werden in jedem Semester digitalisierungsspezifische Inhalte, wie zum Beispiel die Bedeutung von Daten in der Produktion und deren Auswertung, vermittelt. Die IT-spezifische Lehre erfolgt überwiegend an konkreten IT-Systemen. Auf diesem Weg erwerben Sie neben den theoretischen Grundlagen die praktischen Fähigkeiten, um Aufgabenstellungen der Digitalisierung von Unternehmensprozessen zu lösen. Gleichzeitig entwickeln Sie gezielt außerfachliche Kompetenzen, wie zum Beispiel das Arbeiten in Teams oder den sicheren Umgang mit der englischen Sprache.
