My TH OWL – The Campus App
Check the cafeteria menu, read university news, or access important links: In everyday student and work life, you need a wide variety of information. With “My TH OWL – The Campus App,” this information is now easier to access and all in one place—right on your smartphone.
The app is designed for students, prospective students, staff, and visitors to TH OWL. It’s being developed in collaboration with the provider UniNow and will be gradually adapted to meet the needs of our university.
You can download “My TH OWL” for free onto your smartphone right now. The app is available for Android via the Google Play Store and for iOS via the Apple App Store:

What does the Campus App offer?
The app helps make it easier and more organized to manage daily life at TH OWL. Information and university services that were previously scattered across different locations have been consolidated into a single app.
- Everything in one place: News, events, cafeteria menus, and important links are all accessible through a single app.
- Personalized: Users can choose which topics and information they’d like to see regularly in their personal feed.
- For different target groups: Students, staff, prospective students, and visitors each receive the information that is relevant to them.
- Ongoing development: The Campus app launched with a selection of features and will be regularly expanded and improved during the initial three-year partnership with UniNow.
Here are the features the app offers at launch
The latest news from the university is consolidated in one place within the app. You can use your personal settings to choose which topics appear in your feed.
You can view the current menus for the cafeterias directly through the app.
Events and important dates at TH OWL are compiled in a calendar module. Users can also create their own calendar with the dates that are relevant to them.
Responsibilities and reminders can be recorded and organized directly in the app.
Central university services and resources can be accessed via a clear list of links. These include, for example, information on how to get there, campus safety, counseling services, and the university store.
The career portal displays current job openings provided by UniNow. In the future, job openings from TH OWL will also be integrated via an interface.
Benefits for Students
Through the app, students receive key information and direct access to important resources related to their studies.
The following services are currently integrated:
- Information from the student councils,
- News and announcements from the General Student Committee (AStA),
- Information from the Student Parliament (StuPa),
- links to e-learning, eCampus, and the KIS portal,
- Information from the Academic Advising Office,
- Services offered by the International Office,
- other important links and resources for everyday student life.
Benefits for Employees
Employees can also use the Campus App to access news, events, and key internal resources.
The following sections are accessible via a dedicated list of links:
- the TH OWL intranet,
- time tracking,
- the S(kim) documentation,
- information on emergency and crisis management,
- services and resources in the areas of equality and inclusion.
Additional content for employees may be added over time.
Note: For websites located exclusively on the TH OWL intranet, you’ll need VPN access on your cell phone. You can find instructions on how to set this up in this documentation.
Offers for Prospective Students and Visitors
Even people who are not yet studying or working at TH OWL can access helpful information through the app.
This includes, in particular:
- the program finder,
- a link to the KIS portal,
- news and events at the university,
- information on campuses, directions, and other services offered by TH OWL.
The Personal Feed
An important feature of the Campus App is the customizable feed. Users can choose for themselves which topics and areas they’d like to receive regular updates on.
For example, they can customize their feed to include university news, events, information from student organizations, or tips for starting college.
The goal is to provide information in a more targeted manner and ensure that important announcements reach the right people more quickly.
Here's how the app could be further developed
The Campus app did not launch with every conceivable feature right away. During the initial three-year partnership with UniNow, it will be expanded gradually and adapted to users’ needs.
In the future, the following features, among others, could be added:
Access to university email accounts for students and staff is expected to become an integral part of the new campus app in the future.
The CampusCard (KIS OWL), the Deutschlandticket, and possibly the TH OWL ID could be available digitally via the app in the future.
Students could view their grades and related statistics directly in the app.
We plan to provide an overview of checked-out items, due dates, and renewal options.
Additional services, internal information, and offerings from the faculties can be integrated gradually.
In the future, job postings from TH OWL will also be integrated into the career portal via an interface.
Test Phase and Launch
The app is currently being tested by a group of students and staff members. They are evaluating its features under conditions that are as realistic as possible and providing feedback on its usability and the content it offers.
The official launch of the campus app is planned for the 2026–2027 winter semester. The goal is for first-year students in particular to benefit from important information, dates, and tips right from the start of their studies.
Feedback from the testing phase will be incorporated into the app’s further development. The goal is to tailor the app as closely as possible to the practical needs of students, staff, and visitors.
Once the Campus App officially launches, it will be available for free download via the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. We will provide direct download links here on this page.
