Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Witte was born in Dinklage in 1962. After graduating from high school, he studied physics at the University of Münster from 1982 to 1988. In 1988, he completed his studies with the German Diplom degree. From 1988 to 1996 he worked in various departments of the 'Automotive Electronics' division of Robert Bosch GmbH in Karlsruhe and Schwieberdingen as a development engineer in the pre-development department, later as a team leader in series development. In 1996, he completed his doctorate at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) with a thesis on "Simulation studies on the influence of driver behavior and technical distance control systems on column traffic". From 1996 to 2001 he worked at the Research and Technology Center of Deutsche Bahn AG in Minden. Here he led an international technology project for the development of communication systems for freight trains.
In 2002, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Witte was appointed to the OWL University of Applied Sciences and Arts for the field of 'Communication Technology' in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. He is actively involved in the teaching of the courses of study electrical engineering, information technology and technical computer science. His research focuses on radio-based technologies for automation and contact-free energy and data transmission.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Witte is partner of the affiliated institute OWITA GmbH and founding member of the Institute Industrial IT (inIT). He was confirmed as Vice President for Research and Transfer for a second term of office.
