Degree: Bachelor of Science

Start of studies: Winter term

Standard period of study: 6 semesters

ECTS: 180

Program accredited by ASIIN

Mechatronics comprises elements of electrical, mechanical and computer engineering. It connects these disciplines to a field in which interdisciplinary thinking plays a major role. Mechatronic systems are characterized by containing both mechanical and electrical elements. These include, for example, modern power-driven vehicles, DVD players, household appliances and appliances for process engineering. Graduates of mechatronics are concerned with developing and implementing such systems. Their range of tasks includes, amongst others, mechanical and plant engineering, medical technology and automotive technology.

All these activities are based on a positive attitude towards problem solving. The study of mechatronics enables students to work independently on technical solutions to various problems.

The Bachelor’s degree program is also offered as a dual Study program.

Why study at TH OWL?

The program is offered in cooperation of two departments. Students of this program have the opportunity to profit from the expertise of both the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics. Working in small groups allows for an intense support by our teaching staff. Good networking relationships with industrial companies offer graduates optimal conditions to start their careers.

More information about this program can be found on the website of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics.
