Dynamic sitting at driver's workspace

Johanna Keiner does her doctorate at the Detmold School of Architecture and Interior Architecture under the supervision of Professor Ulrich Nether, TH OWL, in cooperation with Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln (German Sport University Cologne) under the supervision of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ingo Froböse. The title of her dissertation is "Dynamic sitting at driver's workspace".

Johanna Keiner

Johanna Keiner's research investigates ergonomic design parameters for seat functions fitting the functional anatomy and physiological needs for long term sitting perfomance while driving. Unknown parameters are individual moving patterns during long term driving sessions.

The study design is set up to look at individual moving patterns during long term driving periods. In a naturalistic driving study with three professional truck drivers, the probands are monitored with real time data recording during their daily driving performance.

Data sets are interface pressure distribution on the seat cushion and subcutaneous tissue oxygenation at the lower lumbar area.
