Nowadays the situation on the german market forces an extensive processes automation. Development of complex, distributed production plants is one of the most important german industry branches.

One central challenge is investigated in the project EfA: After construction of production plants the implementation and commissioning of automation systems extend the time before the beginning of production. The project partners will use formal modeling of requirements, model integration, variation modeling and variation evaluation in order to achieve the following objectives in the project:

  • reducing the design and commissioning costs during automation systems development
  • reducing the development time
  • enhancing the quality of automation solutions
