Formal description of communication protocols using UML has received greater acceptance in the recent years. This is evident from the various publications on this topic. Further Code Generation from the UML model has also been the centre of discussion in the domain of formal description. Hence the objective of this work is to combine the above two points and use them in the field of Real-Time-System.


The goal is to analyse the run-time behaviour and the size of the generated code from a UML model. For this purpose the generated code is ported and executed on an embedded system. For comparing the run-time behaviour and code size, a manual implementation of the UML protocol specification, is programmed. This is then ported and executed on the same embedded system. The two implementations are tested using White-Box- and a Black-Box-Test-Specification which are described with sequence diagrams. The test specification and the UML model were simulated and verified before testing.
