Apply now for the Kolomna winter school "urban reconstruction challenge in ancient russian town context", which is held in Moscow from January 31 to February 11, 2022. Financial support through DAAD Go East scholarship available.

The winter school program is aimed at students studying Architecture, Urban Studies, Civil Engineering, Urban Sociology, History, Design or Fine Arts and related fields.

The winter school will be focused on interdisciplinary design goal featuring historical landscape, industrial architecture site renovation, public and residential housing integration. Most of the Moscow Region historical settlements suffer nowadays from dramatic economy and social changes – decline of XIX and XX centuries industry and fast conversion of independent municipalities towards off-Moscow ‘dormitory districts’ via uncontrolled urban sprawl and over-rational raise of density. Such challenges can be solved together with local heritage preservation activists, international urban planning and architecture expertise.

This Winter School is supported by the DAAD go east! program. Students from Germany are eligible to apply for financial support.

Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (National Research University) is the leading Russian university of higher education in the sphere of civil engineering.
